Geovanni or Koren?
Don't want to sound critical of Koren but Geovanni IMO. It's close, Koren has his benefits as in he can perform all year round and he is very consistent, but when Geovannis on song... ****ING HELL there's a serious player.

Optional further year could also mean if we decide to offer him an extension, the first year has to be on the same or better terms.
Geovanni's best is better than Koren's best but i think you get more consistency from Koren. I would like to see Koren in the PL before making any harsh decision but both where Great for the club.
Koren is captain of his national team but Geo has played for great clubs so I'd say he edges that argument
I wonder how long Koren will carry on playing for Slovenia?
A lot of players knock it on the head around 30 these days to prolong their club career.

Could be that he puts his country first, who knows, it would suit us if he jacked it in at international level if he comes back knackered after games
I'm sure the one year extension has been trigged and he's got an automatic year deal if he wants it, but as he's playing so well, we'll almost certainly being offering an improved contract for a longer term.
Think you'll find the players that retire from International Football to concentrate on their Clubs are the same ones that earn a couple of million a year from their Clubs. (or the ones who think they are a million light years better than they actually are - like Carragher).
Maybe that's where Blunderside get it from.
They've just announced that they are in error and Koren's contract does not expire at the end of this season but in 2013.

Barmby's just said that they've "taken the option of the third year", so it sounds promising.
