I had old Jarvis running on Kodi xmbc box and since most things have gone down I saw lots of reviews saying it can be up graded to 17.3 but kept getting message problem with parsing package wouldn't let it complete , I tried through es app and akp etc down load from apps but still not doing it, ? Anyone got past it ok ?

If you getting the 'parsing' message, then you have downloaded the wrong version of Kodi for your machine, EG 32bit/64bit etc.............<ok>

Ta Phil but I've tried both 32 and 64 no luck.

Some times they are coded to the Android box and you have to get the update from the manufacturers website or wait until a firmware update.

I know that updating Kodi on Android TV boxes can be an issue even if you do successfully update, as many complain that the update runs slow with addons not working properly, I have researched this issue, and it's why I will not update until it's from the manufacturer, I'm using Kodi v16 on my box which is 2017 model........ <ok>

Same problem here.Answer is our boxes are not "modern" enough.
I shall buy another more up to date box soon.

I believed that but there are many on line that say the box can be up dated to 17.3 and all latest versions but following a few so far has not worked , there may be something missing or an app I haven't tried yet that let's it work,
I've given box to a mate that's more techy to try so I'll know tomoz if can do it, he's got Amazon box and rates it so I may get one if all else fails.
Just received my new Samsung Galaxy S2 to replace 3rd Duff Acer Iconia tablet so once it's charged up I hope it will be as good as I hope.

The link states the obvious, but while Kodi 17 is on the Playstore, it will not upgrade some machines, and as I have said before there are issues with different boxes, you can delete your old Kodi (Backup first), then do a fresh install of Kodi 17, but you are not guaranteed it will work properly, many have found it to be sluggish and problematic on their Android Boxes that's why the link has a warning at the bottom of the article.

"Note, due to the wide variety of Kodi builds and how they are made, we are not responsible for any issues with upgrade. Generally, Kodi 16 builds are NOT upgradable to Kodi 17 so if you have a build and are unsure, it’s recommended that you delete Kodi and all of its files, then download Kodi 17.1 using the procedure above and start fresh to reduce problems".

I am staying with Kodi 16, as it works superb on my new ABox III................<ok>

If you only use your laptop/note book for fun things then go to factory settings and put your machine back to when you first got it.....It clears all the rubbish and you can start again with a clean laptop/notebook.

If you have set your machine to performance, then the CPU will be running at peak performance, but you really need to identify the CPU technology that you have eg, Intel i5 or i7 etc, The information can be found in device manager.

Do you know the basic type of machine you have? If it's AMD or INTEL? How much Ram does it have? How old is the machine? better still give me the model number, I'll look it up for you!........<laugh>
See I knew you would be able to help. It is quite old it is an Acer Aspire e15 I think.

It's an intel i5 dual core, and should have 8 gig of memory, but may have just 4 gig if it was an early Aspire e15, let me know how much memory you have, and is it intel graphics or Nvidia?
