I'd of been more worried if Johnson had of been sacked tbh.
After only 5 months in the job he won a Wembley final and very nearly dragged us up when we looked a mid table team before he took over.
Sacking him now would of shown weakness and panic.
He'll get the benefit of a proper transfer window now and can be judged better then.

Frankly its nice to have our first summer in our entire period in League One to be not severely disrupted by major change away from the playing field. This will be the first summer in forever that a manager, a chief scout and a technical director will be able to get together and properly recruit the right people, rather than poke around and leave everything too late once they know what their budget is

I'm glad he has come out a nipped that one straight away. Get the plan implemented and let's go. Looking forward to this summer rebuild

When does pre-season usually start?

First game is 7th August - and its usually 6 weeks for pre-season I think. So looking around 21-28 June?

Jury is out on Johnson for me. Massively. He crumbled in the run in and showed relegation form. Didn't react to Appleton changes in the second half either.

That said, KLD promised him that he would get this season to have a full run at it. True to his word, he is giving him it.

Big call. Let's hope, with Johnson getting his own players in, we can find some consistency.
Sorry to pick ya brains here marra, what do you feel of his ownership group comment? I know he is the majority shareholder and chairman so ultimately the final say is his

Not sure when the summer transfer window opens.
Players contracts run out 30th June so assume the window starts 1st July.
So pre season could start before the window opens, not sure I've got that right anybody out there able to clarify for me please.
Whenever it is it's going to be busy at SAFC, can't wait.

Hopefully a home game in there somewhere to test the new pitch out.

On football manager it starts on 7th June if that's anything to go by.

That’s a great point. Close season for the last few years has been horrific. Takeover talks and managerial changes, the whole place hasn’t just stagnated but gone backwards. There is a team in place now who have a full pre season and full transfer window to give it a real go. Unfortunately, Covid may hamstring the build a bit due to the amount that KLD is having to bail us out until things get back to normal, but by the looks of the stadium and pitch work he’s going to give it a real go. Let’s hope that the manager is up to it.

Yeah LJ made mistakes..which manager doesn't?
But the players continually crumbled and made a catalogue of basic schoolboy errors at big moments. They took the credit when we went on the good run, they carry the can now. Weren't up to it.

I don't think there will be a massive overhaul, we need 2 strikers 2 big defenders, 2 midfielders, and 2 goal keepers. Lee might have to knock the size of the squad down though.

Professional and bound by legality.

It is an ownership group. He has to say that. However, the simple fact of the matter is that KLD is the man with the power and makes all the decisions.
That’ll do for me bonny lad
