I just saw this web page. Ken Knighton was one of my favourite players.

Good addition to the City team a strong tackler and sometimes additional striker, just a shame when we sold him, Blackburn Rovers got him I think.
My dad took me to that game.
We was winning when the fog came down
When it was re played we lost
Grrrrr
Ken knighton was my fav player while at city
I'm pretty sure the replay was goal-less, Filey - I'll check the Elton bible and get back to you!
...and mine.
Particularly remember the battle of Bramall Lane match.
We bought him from B'burn ref, I thought he left us for the Wendies?
Ta for that correction spesuper
. 2-0 up before the match was abandoned, 0-0 in the replay - it's just not fair !I remembered him coming from B'burn, the rest is from the Chris Elton bible - the old memory ain't what it was mate!
Oxford beat us 1-0 win a goal in the 89 min after we had battered them.Everyone goes on about the battle of bramall lane like it was some fantastic time for City. And so it might have been on the night, for a few reasons. I remember it well. But it was also when the wheels started to fall off on the season. Only won a handful of games after that. After the heroics of Bramall Lane, I'm sure I recall Ken Knighton and Bill Baxter then being officially welcomed aboard at home against Oxford the following Saturday???...... We lost, and it was pretty much downhill from there......
