Teams need a first GK and a young but able second. The third GK should be experienced and able to step in for a game if necessary. No point in the third keeper being young and up and coming because they will virtually never get a game. I believed we had a super 2nd keeper last year in Bart, but I think he'd hit a wall and needed to move on for his own sake. I'm sure NC is on the case, but hope we don't get caught up chasing a nonstarter (like Butland) and miss out on other good keepers.
Agreed but if we sign one and assuming it's too soon to blood our academy keeper, that only gives us 2. Im not counting Forecast!

I'd laugh if Butland joined next week![]()
I would as well, but unless we've got nearly got him already, he'll be biding his time to see what offers are out there.
Could be it's gone all quiet because we are in discussions?.

Gone quiet about Messi as well![]()
don't ruin that for once i'm feeling positive on the transfer front.Unless there is something in the pipeline, the decision to allow Dovey to go to Eastleigh is baffling. He is a quality keeper voted by Eastleigh fans as the best they have ever had. I was also under the impression that the Saints coaching staff rated him highly.
It seems odd to me that we have a stated aim to get our academy players into the 1st team and here we had one who might have been good enough and yet we let him go and seem prepared to splash £6m on another 19 year old. I've seen him and Forecast play and I know which one I would rather have. I wonder if a different call would have been made had we still been in the Championship.
