That one I had seen something a few months ago in the HDM about. Makes you feel old when you consider I was a first year pupil when it actually opened in 1959, so to see it built and knocked down in my life time is strange.

I'm in Anlaby too - had Lightstream installed earlier this year. Definite improvement in our household. Having said that it couldn't be any worse than it was before One minute the connection was fine the next it wa
Are you connected via wireless by any chance? Just I have just built my dad a pc and he is connected through wireless and was only getting approx. 10mbps because it was only connecting through the 2.4Ghz wireless ... I have moved it to 5ghz wireless and now running at approx. 52mbps download
Sounds like its probably the same issue, easiest way to tell is by plugging your laptop (or any laptop) directly into the router (usually a black Zyxel, netgear or white tecnicolor branded box) using a Ethernet cable. Run a speedtest then and I would imagine you will get a much better speed than on wireless
I was going to put 'I can just imagine'...but.... well, it conjures up an image of Dennis stood there looking all bemused in his black fish net gear on and trying to tune his wireless in to Radio Luxembourg and swearing about dotty tricking him again and still not being happy about things going down on him.
There’s about a 99.999% chance that if your lightstream isn’t better than ADSL it’s due to your equipment being on a busy wireless channel, and is in fact nothing to do with KCOM. All the routers around you are fighting for the connection so yours will drop out. If you ring up KCOM technical support they’ll talk you through fixing it. It might take trying several wireless channels before you fix the issue so stick at it.
