I think he needs games. He's good enough - so play him. It never harmed Rooney starting early or all the other countless numbers of players.

Taylor is 23 and already played nearly 140 games. 40 a season approx- he's already got a good few years under his belt so he must have been a similar age to Tymon.

Ive never said dont play him. Im saying you dont flog an 18 year old over a season in the championship. 20 -25 games. This is his education.

Look mate just go on wiki for taylor. He barely played before age 20. Then it was 32 games in L2 for Fleetwood.

I'd offer Tymon £10k a week and he'd accept it.

Liam Cooper is on £5k a week at Leeds.

Tymon isn't worth anymore than that.

    IMO.

The average Championship players annual salary - basic <doesn't include promotion bonuses or appearances etc etc> (according to a report in Feb 2016) is £324k - That's £27k a month, so on that basis I'd probably offer him £6.75k a week. This figure is obviously diluted by players earning much less and players earning much more at a handful of clubs, but I think in this instance we have to at least try to protect our assets.

You could make it up to £10k with bonus payments for appearances etc.

We'd not have to shell out signing another left back and we'd have someone local getting regular first team football.

Ehab : 'Well, he was on £160 per week and we've offered an extra £10 per week. That should keep him in sherbet dips and pineapple chunks to his hearts contents. He's only 17 after all'

Get him on a £10k p/w contract for two years and you only have to sell him for £1 million to make all those wages back. The only person who wouldn't see that as good business sense is somebody who actively drives away 20% of their customers just to make a point. The Allams couldn't run a bath never mind a football club.

That puts it into perspective nicely. £10k p/w sounds like a huge amount especially for those on £250 p/w but in the realm of football these days that's how it is.

If Tymon wants 15k a week give him it.

To get another first team left back we will need to pay 2-3 million? If not more. We will then need to give him £15,000 in wages at least. So financially it makes sense to give Tymon a new contract on good wages. From a footballing perspective I think he has the talent to do it too.

You're talking Premier League money, most players in the Championship aren't on £15k a week, the average is just over £6k a week.

When we went up in 2008 we had a few on around £10k didn't we? I seem to remember Bryan Hughes being one and Pedersen being another. Okocha was rumoured to be on about £15k. Has it really not gone up since then?

There'll certainly be players on over £15k a week in the Championship, most of our squad for a start, but it's still not the norm, outside of clubs with parachute money, most decent players are on about £10k a week.
