I agree you apart from your omission of the biggest threat of all, we are at a point now where one or two misguided missile strike could be the start of all out war in the Middle East that could include most counties in the world

My point is the gradual erosion of all our privacies and rights (included in your post meant to derail mine, but thanks for confirming it instead) plus a growing theme of being accused of Hate Crime if you do not agree with the growing number of militant minorities, one example being a new law proposed by Labour that if a woman refuses to accept a Trans is a REAL woman she can be jailed for two years for Hate Crime

The thing I dislike most about CCTV is if a young kid is stabbed to death under a CCTV camera the image will be too blurred or the wrong angle to indemnify the assailant but if you drop litter or accidentally put a tyre inside a bus lane you will have the summons the following morning

WOKE is not just LGBTQ but a whole raft of movements that if combined will reduce or end all freedoms we thought we had 20 - 30 years ago

I agree that there's a gradual erosion of our rights and privacy, but again I'd argue that lies more with Govt policies and corporate data collection than a WOKE agenda.

That said I think there are some seriously flawed issues with regard to Trans rights, i.e allowing men who identify as women into women's spaces, be that prisons, changing rooms, sporting competition etc. That has come about because of a permissive campaign to protect these people's rights, but it's at the detriment of Women. I'm surprised the feminist movement isn't more vocal about that.

But overall, I think people worry far too much about WOKEISM. It probably doesn't affect your life in a material way one bit, but the trashy media will have you believing that it's going to cause Armageddon. My opinion is that is a deliberate attempt at divide and rule, to get ordinary folk arguing amongst themselves, instead of turning their ire to the corruption and inequality meted out by those in charge.

I think in many ways, things have gone too far. There is acceptance of others, which for a long time was way too weak, on one end- and the denial of common sense in fear of offending someone over something trivial at the other. Somewhere in between the two there should be an acceptable middle. The problem with society today is that people want to stand on either edge of an issue rather than take a middle ground. You're either "anti woke" or "woke"- why isn't "sensible compromise" ever an option?

Bet it felt ridiculous even typing that, eh?

Mad world we live in, the 'look at me (please!!)' culture.

Ludicrous.

Your last paragraph is exactly what you're are engaging in though, so though you complain it's a deliberate attempt to divide and rule, you are that person, and anyone that does not agree with your political view, you will engage that divide and rule stance to berate them.

Here's you engaging with me earlier in the year and on the very topic you complain about the trashy media doing, pot kettle black, and you are in Cornwall, you couldn't be further away from our diverse civilisation, yet you still got a beef about it.... <laugh>

I'm on the same page as this. I don't care what people get up to in their bedrooms as long as it's consensual, that's their business.

But when people want the right to identify as whatever they want, and it then impacts on somebody else's privacy and rights, then no, **** right off with that ****.

Yeah well we all argue on here

I'm talking about the wider media approach which paints WOKEISM as some kind of three headed monster that's gonna eat your children

Instead of focusing on those corrupt brexiteers who spunked £20bn of our money on their mates during covid

Clearly barking mad. It must be ruff to wake up each day feeling like that but they've made a real humans dinner of putting their point across.
