I freely admit I didn't want him in charge due to lack of experience. And it's early days as yet. But wtf - I loved this guy as a player, and his team are rapidly winning me over as manager material. Any other manager choice will rub a lot of fans up the wrong way. We may lose on tuesday, but given where we were ten days ago, he'll still be in credit with me.

But if the team gives everything and no players go into hiding, that in itself will be a consolation.
In so many of our defeats earlier this season a number of players were poor.
Granted players will have off-games. But if they're trying to make it happen the fans will see that.
With Rotherham in the form they're in I would take a battling draw all day long.

was watching JE and JJ last night. JE seems more aware of the tactical mistakes we are making - saw him lots of times pulling the back line up the pitch a bit. under Adkins, we'd have been camped on the edge of our box for their goal kick. last night we were up on the edge of the center circle. not rocket science that - to move the play away from our goal.

Johnnie Jackson has transformed Charlton on the pitch in our last four games.
He has the team believing in themselves and playing out of their skins.
But it's been four games.
And all we have seen is Jackson's Charlton triumphant.
That's a good thing for our league position - but less clear as to whether it's a real permanent improvement, or a honeymoon.
We will learn a lot more about Jacko and his men as & when things maybe don't go so well.
Plymouth Argyle are flying this season.
It's not impossible that they could take Charlton apart tomorrow.
Now there's no disgrace in losing to them - but a heavy defeat will ask some serious questions.
How JJ and the team answer those questions will reveal much.

But if it does, I would rather see those questions answered while JJ is caretaker manager.
Not 24 hours after he's been given a two or three year contract.
Personally I think another month - another 5 or 6 games, is fully justified before a big decision is made.

No rush, remember when OGS took over from Jose the fantastic results which lasted until he was given a permanent contract. I expect JJ to turn out a great manager, but TS has already had to pay off two managers, and wants to make sure he gets this one right. JJ ain't gonna go anywhere if he doesn't get the job tomorrow, so don't panic Mr Mainwaring.

Colin Murray, Jobi Mcanuff and Ali Maxwell were saying give Jackson a contract until the end of the season.

I don’t think Sandgaard will find anyone better for the job, so I think he should be offered a 3 year deal.

The counter argument would be 'why would you risk a change of manager now when we are playing so well'. Who could get the team looking better? I doubt Jackson will have to wait much longer. TS will probably give him the job full time soon enough.
Agreed. The team is safer in the hands of Jacko n Jase than anyone else out there. The new Clough n Taylor I reckon. To put out a performance like yesterday's with our injury list and Stockley's suspension in front of a packed Valley was fantastic. A 3-year contract would be abahrt right.
I broadly agree with these sentiments. But I still don't mind TS taking his time, as long as that is not creating friction between Jackson and Sandgaard.
Personally I don't think it is at the moment...

Don’t jinx things. Leave JJ as caretaker while the run continues. Draw up a lucrative contract and if we lose two games before the end of the season then offer it to him. If we don’t, then give it to him at the final game as we head to the Championship.
