He's not a bad keeper, but I think we have our keeper sights set a little higher(unlike some other positions).

yeah strange that.. we currently have no 1st choice or 2nd choice keeper signed to the club. whats more worrying is that there's no talk or rumours about who we're signing.

I wouldn't say that, I think we can be pretty sure we're after Mannone, with Eilhoff and Guzan as other potential options.

Joe Lewis may not be bad signing aswell peterborough expect him to leave in the summer no matter what league they are in

Murphy would surely be just as good or better than Eilhoff, perhaps on slightly higher wages but still free. So would be an ideal backup to Mannone.

This, but I don't think he would be on higher wages than Eilhoff. He was playing for Scunny so he won't have been on much, and he won't be after as much of a signing on fee since he doesn't need to relocate himself and his family to another country.

All the talk about us looking at Mannone and Guzan, I don't see Guzan coming in to be 2nd choice which is what he clearly would be, what's in it for him? Murphy I could see coming in content to be 2nd choice so long as he had a chance to compete with Mannone to try and become the first choice.

Based on Mannone's injury record so far, even if Guzan came in as No.2, he'd probably still play most games(just as he did last season).

I'm pretty sure if we were to get Guzan, he would be the first choice keeper. Only has a year left on his current deal at Villa, but the HDM have suggested we'd be looking to get him on a free transfer, rather than buy him.

Mannone is an interesting one. Should we sign Guzan, a deal for Vito would surely be very unlikely, with Guzan expecting to be the number 1. Obviously it wouldn't be in our or Arsenal's interest for us to buy Mannone, but a season long loan looks a possibility. But where would that leave Big Brad?!

Eilhoff and Murphy would be more realistic targets for a second choice goalie.

Interesting. Surely he would be granted a permit if he signed for us though, with him playing most games during his loan spell? Mind you, the HDM have probably got it wrong again and he's heading back to the states..

If it were a problem we'd bring him on a season long loan this season using his existing permit, and then next summer try and sign him by showing he'd played (almost) all our games as his grounds for appeal.
