The problem is, if we were in his position and a financial advisor says 'do you want to pay less tax legally'
How many would sit there and say 'oh no, i want to donate 50% of my earnings so some sodding MP can claim for a new plug'

I completely agree with you if you're earning that much. However, the difference here is that he then went and criticised/joked about others avoiding tax. That's the hypocrisy. Cameron got it all wrong when he said it was immoral- it's the politicians fault for making the tax rules so complicated that clever accountants can do this.
Carr's mistake wasn't in the fact he was legitimately reducing his tax liability, it was in attacking others.![]()
i don't even think he should have apologised.
or is that just me?

i realise its morally wrong but what he did wasn't actually illegal. its the people who allow this sort of thing to happen who need to apologise, not those who use the loophole. i don't recall the need for all members of take that to apologise...
i very much doubt it will affect his career at all by the way. it gives him even more material if anything.
In my book that's blatant hypocracy! You totally miss the point! He is taking the piss and insulting other people like bankers etc for doing something that he is also doing! In my book that's blatant hypocracy!
