So to summarize, we've signed a bemused, grinning alcoholic, who is also addicted to junk food, drives a crap car, still likes a kickabout with his mates and can't even dress himself properly, but is on a promise from Steve Bruce that he's going to get plenty of 'game time' with the big boys.

Now can anyone suggest a teetotaller, who runs a fashion company, appreciates the finer points of quality transport, swears by a healthy diet and still fancies that he could look pretty handy on the five-a-side pitch, to take the lad under his wing?

Must live local.

Unusual collar he's gone for...

**** he sounds really excited to be here…. ****ing Manc...

He will fit in with a certain element of our fan base then. <laugh>

Hardly Mr personality is he? I think he wants more game time, that's the main theme I'm picking up there. It's subtle, but if you listen carefully you might hear it.

Most footballers do want more game time - strange but true Hardly a crime, but then again.........

I have it on good authority that Steve Bruce intends to watch him in training, watch the other players, consider the opposition, and then decide whether he will play him or not based on who he thinks will most likely get a good result for us and in what formation. He may not always get that right, but he is going to stick to that crazy plan regardless...you heard it here first!
Which includes taking off forwards and seeing games out for a win as he's done all season :emoticon-0172-mooni

I hadn't covered his crazy plans once the game starts, but I'm pretty sure he does that because he thinks it will get the best results while resting players if needed. I may not agree with him all the time, but I can't see he would do it for any other reason?

So now that the dust has settled what's the verdict? My view is that it's been a very good January for the club - both in terms of results and the Transfer Window. We've kept our squad - which some posters have described as the best in the Championship - intact and possibly strengthened it with the two additions. We always have the emergency loan window to cover any significant injuries that occur. Middlesbrough have spent a lot of money but if the players bed into the team then they will continue to be a danger. With this squad Steve Bruce has got us to the top of the League - with the most goals scored and best goal difference - and in my view we are still well on track for promotion.

Campbell would have made it a 10. for me.

The last bit spoiled it. Hard to disagree with the rest. As for FC he can stew on the Palace bench.

The man management skills that took us to and kept us in the Premier League?

How did Bruce cope with that? <whistle>

As well as square head. SB took us up and kept us up - square head spat his dummy out because he thought his lad should have got away with whatever he did on the pre-season tour. He didn't stick around for a 2nd season in the PL so we'll never know how he would have done. You have reaped the benefit of him leaving.

Ah, we are debating Pearson and his relationship (or not) with Powell, and as you clearly haven't got a suitable answer (or retort) you change the subject to Pearson and the world at large! <doh>

**** thats bad news. Bruce wasn't even sure of his best 11 until 3 weeks ago and may still not be now. This'll muddy the waters even further..<laugh>
