The Mirror has us linked with Tom Lawrence at Leicester, but claim Cardiff are favourites to win his signature. Maybe a safety net if Powell deal doesn't go through?

Rhodes scores 1 in 2 for Blackburn - does he take penalties?

4-5 season scoring well in the Championship. There must be something else about him other than the wage demands or any one of Sunderland, Newcastle etc would have snapped him up. Well known Blackburn want to sell

The club can confirm we have failed to agree terms with Jordan Rhodes. Statement here - http://bit.ly/1PNxmyX

The statement:

The club can confirm that we have held talks with Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes over the weekend but have failed to agree terms.

<laugh> great statement.

FTR, I think this is likely one of those deals that will end up taking a late UT. Although TFT would say otherwise. As always TWT.

Thank **** that deal fell through.

Though on those insane wages I'm not surprised at all that Boro cancelled the deal, I really don't blame them.

That's ridiculous for this level, Rhodes obviously has no ambition and just cares about the dough it seems. Shame really, as he's a great player who could easily ply his trade in the Prem.

Boro must have known what he was on before it got as far as did! They must have been given the green light on what he was on by his agent? (Edit obviously not) these things make the player look bad & greedy when it's bad work by the buying club & agent.

Jordan Rhodes camp strenuously deny they moved goalposts over wage demands. Claim they were as shocked as anyone when deal collapsed.

Palace has accepted a £7.5m bid from Swansea for Dwight Gayle.

Apparently the stumbling block to the Rhodes = Boro' deal in that they also wanted promotion bonuses. The total package over 4 and a half years without bonuses is £30 million apparently including the fee. Boro's turnover last year was £16 million total.!!!!!

You have to wonder why a Premier team hasn't come in for him.
Bournemouth, Swansea, Newcastle, to name but three who you would think could do with his services, if that was the case.<confused>

Some talk of Boro in for Hernandez now. Utter nonsense. Even read one suggestion that we'll sell him and then buy Rhodes. Does anybody actually believe any of this stuff? I just wonder what the point of writing it actually is.

Ah, you're doing your usual sniping. If you want to play the archivist then tuck- in, Tuckin. Stewart joined us in Nov 2010, the thread you offer (with your superior inflection) is from Mar 2012, by which time many had joined me in my opinion of him. There may be more posts on here, but I was posting on HDM, look at when I joined here, and those who were on there then will recall my stance on Stewart - he was a lightweight. There's a few around, you know. Thanks for taking the late-night trouble to trawl the archives to keep me in check, it good to know someone cares so much. <laugh>
He's not the only one on here who really cares!

Just spent half an hour on the Blackburn forum, there explanation why no PL club has come in for Rhodes is 1) no pace 2) his work rate 3) his wages ,and that's from his own fans.
