McCormack is a laugh.

We haven't got any cash...

But...

There may be some players that we'd spends next years cash on if the chance was there. Not many, but sometimes you have to get it while you can.
Long shot, but if SB really really wants him, it's a cash gamble.
Reckon it's tosh, though.

You've said this a few times - but does this thread count as "pelters"? Was there another thread I've missed?

Ah, you're doing your usual sniping. If you want to play the archivist then tuck- in, Tuckin. Stewart joined us in Nov 2010, the thread you offer (with your superior inflection) is from Mar 2012, by which time many had joined me in my opinion of him. There may be more posts on here, but I was posting on HDM, look at when I joined here, and those who were on there then will recall my stance on Stewart - he was a lightweight. There's a few around, you know. Thanks for taking the late-night trouble to trawl the archives to keep me in check, it good to know someone cares so much. <laugh>

Fez was spot on about Stewart

And i was so wrong as i thought he was going to be a great player

He was good at first, he got his head turned by Pearson at Lichester, what was it? £1.5 million & a few were saying double it & throw in a player, can't remember which player?
Did he get an injury after as well?

Yep, I agree. He looked the best signing when he initially joined. But went downhill rapidly there after. Whether it was injury or attitude I'm not sure. His return from one loan spell overweight was simply a shocking display of professionalism and Bruce blasted him publicly afterwards on the radio. He's now had quite a few clubs in quick succession, so it looks like it's an attitude issue.

Ah, the HDM comments section - I think we can agree you're not going to get a high proportion of thoughtful comments on there.

Sure, when he was younger, he set off like steam train. His pace was where 99% of his goals came from. But now he's older, and much slower, he's easy to mark out of the game. The proof of this is, in 2010/11 he got 5 in 32, in 2011/12 he scored 6 in 36, 2012/13 he scored 12 in 33, in 2013/14 he got 4 in 31, in 2014/15 he got 6 in 36 and so far this season 0 in 10.
So if you disregard his career before he bulked up and slowed down, his record is 33 in 178 games.

But that been said in those last 3 seasons that villa team has been in disarray. Constantly changing managers and contempt throughout the squad.

But then again I suppose you would rather we just went for Messi and Suarez
