Wolves are looking to replace Afobe with 20 year old Hibs striker Jason Cummings, but Hibs say he's not for sale (he's scored 10 in 17 so far this season).
The real 'Dave' wants to do one... Brentford midfielder Toumani Diagouraga has handed in a transfer request. Rangers want him apparently (Glasgow, not the dramas).
Reports suggest Fulham and Reading look more likely. Reading I would suggest being an ex.Reading player.
Yes SB did say that on Saturday. We don't have to sell especially to our rivals. A loan striker is maybe the next thing to do now as January is just for the panic merchants. So far our rivals have done little to make them better than us Overall. Chris Martin maybe off to Wolves on loan IF the rumours around Derby are correct. twt...
That makes £18m then for Afobe and Grabban Can imagine what the comments on here would be like if we had done the same thing. Norwich will be sending that £8m to Everton soon for Naismith.
Afobe is probably a decent enough deal, he's young and looks like an all round excellent player, but Grabban is a funny one. He had one good season in the Championship, Bournemouth flogged him for £3m when they went up (which looked a good deal as he hasn't been up to much in the Premier League), yet now they're paying £8m to buy him back.
Upto the end of October I would have agreed. However since then I think he has faded. It will be interesting to see how he gets on in the big league though. But £18m for both ? Surprised that Bournemouth did not offer £10m and say Lee Tomlin to Fulham for McCormack.
Yes but both were proven PL quality players to a point. Afobe and Grabban are not. But the Cherries are taking a big gamble.
If he does go to the Toon then that could tip the difference for Newcastle to stay up and send Swansea City down,.
A lot of teams chancing there arm with the FP terms and staying up. Bournmeouth were fined a massive amount last year as I recall. Interesting Villa seemingly haven't been trying to buy there way out a the hole, perhaps they've given up the ghost already. Allardyce has said he took SB's advice on N'Doye!!!!
