Didn't see the game but Roofe will have added money to his previous valuation with those 2 goals against a PL side!

Swansea City are ready to back their interim manager Alan Curtis with a club record £12.5million bid for Burnley striker Andre Gray.

Swansea, the second lowest goalscorers in the Premier League behind Aston Villa, are desperate to add firepower in their fight against relegation. They have turned to 15-goal Gray having had an even larger bid of £14m rejected by Napoli for striker Manolo Gabbiadini.

Curtis was last week confirmed in his post until the end of the season after the club failed to find a permanent successor to Garry Monk.

With their first-choice striker Bafetimbi Gomis struggling, Swansea’s resolve to land Gray will pose a dilemma for Burnley, who also need the 24-year-old to score the goals to take them back to the top flight.

Even so, the Lancashire club may be tempted by making a handy profit on a player they signed from Brentford in the summer for £9m.

NB I thought there was a rule about not playing for three clubs in one season?

I thought so too - didn't it happen with Ben Arfa ? Maybe the 3 team rule is only an internal thing to the French League 1 ?

I think it's an international rule, I'm sure someone will clarify it! I also think that stories bollocks!

If correct, and I do say If, then if the fee is right I would let him go subject to the funds being used to acquire a another striker. It 's blatantly obvious that apart from Abel we have do not have another natural finisher in the building. Shame as it could be our undoing when it comes to gaining promotion

Think its more likely they will use any Shelvey money if that move goes through to get Bony back

I had also read somewhere that Swansea would get first refusal on Bony at Man City. I think they want to offload him.

We could have doubled our money on Gray if we hadn't pissed around.

It concerns me that if this does happen, Burnley have been very supportive of Dyche, I can see him getting the full amount to spend an a replacement - McCormack for example. Burnley could come out of this window like Middlesbrough and Derby stronger than when it opened.

At times I felt Roofe was playing with lead in his boots. From his early days at WBA he has (T)hatched into a decent footballer.

He'd probably have been ****e here. We have often turned good strikers into ****e ones, not even a strikers arsehole

Hasn't SB said he wouldn't be selling to our rivals? Maybe an exchange with Chris Martin?
