Mate, you're off your tree. Can you post me some of your special "muesli"?

All January is doing is bringing into sharp focus the fact we're NOT very rich and have some fairly bad decision makers in charge. In short, there's not a lot of change and by the Summer I'll be aiming even lower, 'cos we're not even going to be in the top flight.

We're going to have to agree to disagree.

The summer they be able to get the players they're missing out on in January because of the clubs position.

If we stay up

I was quite enjoying it till that clusterfuck on Saturday even going as far as to say I was hopeful for the rest of the season, the wind was well and truly taken out of my sails.

Trippier was a bit of hope, but it had taken so long I was sinking back into the feeling I had with whole Bruce/Emery/Howe debacle. And here we are. Monday 10th, not even an inkling of a new signing, just a number of random Twitter rumours.

Downie, Caulkin, Kennedy - none of them are saying anything particularly positive, they're just as vague as the efforts of the new owners. A lot of it is too familiar for my liking;

- Signing a player we didn't need, because - pound for pound - seemed good value for money.
- No understanding at any level of what is required.
- No prioritisation of the vital positions (CM first, then CB and CF)
- Seemingly nothing happening from anyone involved in transfers or scouting (Nickson, Hammond)
- Weird things happening linked to the club (Ashley suing Staveley)
- None of our **** players leaving

It's got that "sleepwalking to relegation" feel about it we've been through twice before and, let's face it, everything is against us. The stars have clearly aligned to give the football world a big laugh at our expense - as usual.

We will disagree, because if they're baulking at £50m for Schick or Isak or Vlahovic now, what's changing in the Summer? Those players won't be cheaper, and competition is going to be MUCH stiffer. Why? Teams doing well don't upset the squad or over-pay in Jan. It's what I was saying earlier; Kamara is currently around £20m, which is VERY expensive when you consider he's free in the Summer. But a free Kamara will have offers from most big clubs. Man U aren't going to pay £20m for Kamara today, they'll sit and wait. Marseille then either take £20m now or lose him for free. We have to put ourselves in the driving seat, but we're not doing that.

Besides which, we now have less than two days to sign at least one player if not two, else Watford are going to win.

I can foree the future next season. We'll be singing

"Oh Lewis Grabban ooh aah, I wanna knooowwwww how you scored that goal"
"We've got Gary Mackay Steven on the wing on the wing, Gary Mackay Steven on the ****ing wiiiing"

Botman bid rejected again, allegedly. **** me, he's not even a full Int'l, nobody had heard of him til last Sunday, can we really not do better than this?? Ginter is available for £14m, Felipe about the same, Romangnoli about the same. What on earth is Nickson/Hammond doing. Another couple of turds the ownership seem unwilling to flush.

This window's going to be a ****ing disaster.

Alright calm down SSN just had a news clip ...... we're saved. we can remove our nappies and start using the potty again. Hugo Ekitike Stade de Reims.

Was starting to panic thinking nobody noteworthy was going to join.

Yeah kinda agree with you,Botman didn't want to join in the first place even though it's Lille playing silly buggers ,buy 3 players for the same price, simple.

Do you actually watch these guys or are they just names your familiar with from FM or such like? Genuine question without meaning to sound like a twat.

It's these ****ing nobodies, Nickson and Hammond, man. They've stolen a living thanks to the ineptitude of the owners (past and present) and now they're proper ****ing us with inactivity, no contacts, no clue.

Maybe Chaos is right - relegation might be necessary. Painful, but necessary.

My honest thoughts. They're ****ing dilly dallying thinking players at AFCON are going to want to join and will be easier to sign. Not realising its going to be too late.

I found them by referencing Transfermarkt's search which allows you to find players by contract end date. I searched for all players then sorted the list by value. Then I had a little look around the web to see if they were any good. I think everyone's seen Ginter playing with German national team? Luiz Felipe/Romagnoli are highly regarded across the interweb and by mates of mine who watch this kind of football.

Sounds like a faff, but it doesn't take long to find this stuff - a lot less time than actually watching Italian football.

You do the same sort of thing as I do, coz other than NUFC I don't watch a lot of other football but I will look at players etc that start making a name or get linked.
What I would say on Transfermarket's website is their valuation is not a true valuation mate. I would add and additional 50% for most clubs and a higher premium to us.

Hmm, it's all getting clearer and clearer! Richest club? I reckon that particular lie has about 1 week left to run before the media start getting their hands on the real picture, i.e. "REVEALED - Newcastle's paltry transfer budget and distance from PIF".

Challenging for the league in five years, she said. But only with players on under £100k a week. Y'know, like Krafth and Shelvey.

Oh sure, but I only sorted by value to get an idea of who the better class of players are. When you scroll down the list and think of player ability, I think it's pretty accurate. Either way, I think I'm realising I need to reverse sort by value to fit within the Newcastle transfer budget and wage structure....

Also just remembered we had two games postponed as well, giving us more time and ability to get players in.

Honestly, as each minute ticks by the more concerning it all is.

It is making feel a smidge uncomfortable like.
I get we're in a very tricky position but, you were swinging your bollocks around before.... Time to plonk on the table and sign a cheque or two (four).

As I say I fear all the eggs are being plopped into the AFCON basket and its going to be too late.

André Onana - Keeper
Jerome Onguene - Defender
Seko Fofana - Midfielder
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - Striker
