I seriously would be happy for him to leave even without a replacement. My rationale is purely the negative influence he has had since joining a club that is seemingly below him and we need players that can put a shift in, not drift in and out, moan and whinge when its not going well etc. For most of this season he goes AWOL and we end up playing with 9 outfielders on the pitch. I take your point about Bent and Rodallega but I'd had play them. When he's played, Bent has scored pretty much. That's all you can ask for. I think he's done okay with the limited time he's played.
Leicester have knocked back our renewed bid for Liam Moore. However, the Agent of Swansea’s Neil Taylor has thrown in his ten pennurth: “Swansea City star Neil Taylor is open to a move away from the Liberty Stadium, his agent has confirmed. Taylor's agent, Jamie Moralee, has spoken out over Taylor's frustration, admitting the full-back needs first-team football. “Neil wants to play football,” Moralee said, “and it doesn’t look like he is going to do that under the current manager at Swansea. This is not about wanting to leave Swansea City, it’s about wanting to play some games. He has been out for 13 or 14 months with injury and the last thing he wants after getting back to fitness is not to play. But it seems pretty clear that Michael Laudrup doesn’t fancy Neil because even after he played in a fantastic win at Manchester United, he didn’t play in the next game” Source: http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-city-defender-neil-taylor-6554429 And elsewhere, there are unconfirmed stories that we are interested in Danny Rose - nothing connected to Berbatov, I’m sure!
In today's press conference, Rene said that "press reports are quite accurate, and I've nothing to add". He did say though that the next steps are in the hands of Alistair MacIntosh. Getting the impression that he's a bit frustrated by said Ali Mac???
I think so too- he's made a point of mentioning him in most press conferences when discussing transfers. It might be because he's been told to keep out of trouble following the WH tapping up row, maybe because he wants to deflect criticism when expected investment is not forthcoming. A few articles I read around Cortese's departure spoke about the thankless task CE is (and some went into his love of self-promotion). His power is conditioned on Khan - so if Rene tells Ali he needs new players Ali's got to be the one getting permission. To the media and most fans he will absolve Khan and Rene of criticism.
I think he's just playing it careful and not to upset the apple cart. Not counting his Fulham chickens before they have hatched so to speak. cluck cluck! I would be a the CEO or MD of a football club owned by someone else. Thankless indeed, damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
Good to see the club actively looking at quality players. I guess the only difficulty lies in the fact that good players are going to be wanted by their parent clubs. Going for non transfer listed players in january is aggressive but hopefully ali mac can manage to get a few in.
Swansea have rejected our "£4m" bid for Neil Taylor. Source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25864890
In all honesty, I know we need players such as a LB and CM or even a forward but I would not throw money to players such as Taylor or even the Leicester youngsters. It is a sellers market... Just give a chance to our youngsters, get through the season and then splash some money during summer! Even with the players we are linked to can't say that they will have the impact to keep us in the league. May be I am wrong.
From Sky: A BOLA: Fulham have still not agreed the fees with Porto for Steven Defour but the midfielder's agent expects a move in January.
I bloody hate this window, its a pure wind up, I think ffc are boycotting this window, but why can a newly promoted club hull city spend 10m on 2 strikers and we spend nothing, if we don't spend now wisely, we will pay for it
With Man utd putting a bid in for shaw I think we should put a cheeky bid in for Buttner. I like him as a player kid of reminds me of Volz but left back.
I believe the current rumour is that Porto won't let Defour leave, as they sold Lucho (another midfielder) to Al-Rayyan.
My info is Porto have agreed to sell MF Lucho González to Qatar meaning Dafour will not be sold. Unless this have cover for him he stays IMO. A huge huge blow for us.
