Yes I also recall him breaking Flash's arm. However the goal against the Mags and his friendship with a young Sunderland supporter, means I just about forgive him.

If he is match fit and ready to play Saturday... go for it... 2 points out of 9 is not very good.

No matter what age, if Defoe has a pair of boots and wants to be here, then bring it on. The bloke has forgotten more about football than most will ever know. There's a genuine love for the bloke here and I for one cannot wait to see if this happens. If it dose, then... cans?

Fair enough mate. Probably to strong on my part. I havent heard Johnson speak about so if he wants him no problem.

If it happens he will get my full backing live everyone at the club. My concern is around the impact on the pitch. He hasnt played much at all in the last couple of years. I cant see him doing the aggressive pressing which is when I think we are best. Impact sub maybe. Just hope this isnt the only CF we sign because if Stewart is out we really are in trouble in my opinion.

The lad is as fit as a lop, always has been. I can't remember him ever getting injured when he was here. Even if he chips in with 5-10 goals for rest of the season it will be a massive lift for us. Get him coaching the kids and passing on his experience

I truth Johnson only wants him so there is someone on the coaching team smaller than him :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Defoe coming in would be more than a team signing.

The lift to the dressing room having a player of that status would be massive, strikers can learn from him, players will look up to him and want to impress him.

He’s an absolute role model off the park. The fact he’s still playing at 39 tells you a lot.

Be a massive lift. Anyone tells me there isn’t games when Defoe off the bench couldn’t have swung it I say stay off the mushrooms.

Roberts, I am ****ing delighted with that one. Such a talent, and left footed.

Massive upgrade on Gooch, and bringing real balance to the attacking side.

If it works, absolute monster signing.
