A winger? He or may not be a good player, I haven't a clue...but a winger?

Need a LB, Striker and creative midfielder

Frankly there isn't a single position in our squad that can't be improved. And this guy certainly improves it.

We can't just be filling gaps and ignoring the chance to improve the rest of the team.

Can't see him starting Saturday even if he signs in time today. LJ is all about the protocols etc :D

Impact sub tomorrow would be nice though, then a start in midweek in the Papa Johns.

I have no problem in bringing in better players in that we already have (that point to be proved yet, ie Diamond and Mcgeady).

But when we are in need for a LB, creative midfielder and a striker.... I would not just take what is available.

I had never heard of that Rangers lad but he looks like the type who will run through brick walls for the correct manager and team.

He reminds me of Allan Johnston when he cuts inside from the left and finds the top corner with his right foot, but he looks a lot faster and more powerful than magic was.

We could have him, McGeady and Gooch as a 3 behind Wyke. When Hume gets back I think he will like having Jones ahead of him cutting in allowing Hume to overlap. Easy this management lark. <cheers>

Jones n Gucchi on the wings with Charlie & AOB in the middle would be my choice. Cannot see LJ playing 4 upfront like Reidy tho.

McGeady will be gone in the summer methinks. Good planning getting this lad in. Looks like the striker is sorted and I would imagine a LB will be incoming as well.

What has pleased me is the deals appear to have been virtually completed prior to the press getting hold of anything. To the best of my knowledge we were not linked to any of these players.
What is this witchcraft ye talk of?

I think I'm right in saying that if the paperwork is lodged by 12noon subject to completion of medical, even if he's anounced late afternoon he should still be eligible to be in the squad tomorrow.

Doubt he'd start - especially with Papa John in midweek which would be the perfect intro.

Just because one position is a higher priority doesn’t mean we shouldn’t sign good players when they’re available.

It makes no odds which order they’re signed in as long as we get them.

As much as I agree what you say about positions we need to fill. It's all about availability at the time.

My guess is they know what positions we need to fill and they're working on it. Just because we've signed x doesn't mean we're not trying to sign y if you catch my drift.

All in all, the only people who actually know these things work for the club - not the press and not on here, we're all speculating outside of that

Not sure with ours being an early kick off. May be different rules

I think at the start of the window the consensus was unanimous that what the team severely lacked was pace.

This guy is rapid, and very highly rated.

I like Diamond and he could be a fantastic player for us. But the fact he's looked like one of our better attackers is because of how weak the rest are rather than how good he is currently. This is a huge step up. And will allow Diamond to continue his development off the bench and learn from another direct winger.
