This is my wishlist over the weekend and Monday:

Out
Grigg
Graham
Maguire

In
Jones
Striker
Left back

Assuming the striker has a pulse, and the left back is better than McFadzean, that will be a good window.

Maguire leaving would be with a heavy heart, but as per my post last night there's just no place for him now, and he's had 2.5 years to do it, and hasn't. Plus he's clearly leaving at end of season anyway.

You'd think his wages going would help free up more money for a better striker and left back as well.

Not sure where this leaves Chris Maguire frankly, especially with his contract up soon.

Personally in the attacking mid roles I’d have him behind Jones, McGeady, Gooch, Diamond, O’Brien and Embleton in the pecking order. And that’s before Benji is back. And Dan Neil.

He’s clearly good enough to contribute still but can see him going if anybody put a cheeky nominal bid in.
I really used to rate him but that seems to have been when he was one of the first names on the team sheet.
Since he's starting a lot more in the bench seems like he doesn't want to fight for his place.
When he came on last Saturday I genuinely believe when Diamond came off we would have been better bringing no-one on instead of Maguire, it really looked like it was too much effort for him.
If that's the kind of character he is then he's not right for us anymore

Oxford in for Grigg apparently.

They're definitely promotion rivals so I wouldn't loan him to them. But if they want to give us some cash and sign him permanently I'd be driving him there myself

I've never really been that fussed about Maguire, yes he's had good games and showed that little bit of flair in games to do something different but as it's been said before it's too many bits and pieces for me. I reckon he only played for himself to look good rather than the good of team. Won't really miss him when he goes and ideally the sooner the better to allow LJ get someone in that'll push the team on

I've obviously heard absolutely nothing but just doing some completely unsophisticated Wikipedia scouting (I hope Kristjaan knows better :D).

Anyway - Tony Gallacher - 21 year old Liverpool left back has just returned from a loan at Toronto. Seem to remember he was highly rated...

We all know these highlight reels can make the worst of players look like Messi but at the very least he is pacy and skillful and my Rangers friends think he is great. This could be the signing that ignites our season....
I watched a lot of Jones when he was at Kilmarnock and I would be delighted and shocked if we got him. He is fast, powerful, arrogant, not afraid to try things, has a goal in him. Basically everything we've been looking for and would instantly improve us. Him on one side, gooch/mcgeady on other. O9 in midfield or no10 role and the whole dynamic of team changes. If only Hume was fit as I'm not convinced with mcfadzean

Bloody hell I have us promoted just reading this post <laugh>.

In all honesty there is a very fine line between where we are at and where we want to be and it could be as simple as that one signing that does it. Jones certainly seems an exciting signing, now we just need him to fulfil some of that potential

aye - and as has happened to Wyke, we are two good performances away from getting the confidence to go on a run.

Well summarised!

When you look at how winning teams work, (as well as a keeper and striker) a creator is a must.

For the bindippers, Firmino and now Thiago(?) Are doing it now.

Vile have Grealish

Manure has Fernandes

If we cannot get another striker can we get our creator?

I think at the start of the window the consensus was unanimous that what the team severely lacked was pace.

This guy is rapid, and very highly rated.

I like Diamond and he could be a fantastic player for us. But the fact he's looked like one of our better attackers is because of how weak the rest are rather than how good he is currently. This is a huge step up. And will allow Diamond to continue his development off the bench and learn from another direct winger.
Absolutely right. It might be good for Diamond to have this guy in the squad and there to push him on.
