The only issue might be the time the EFL take to consider and approve I suppose?

The actual ‘rules’ themselves have only, by the sounds of it, stopped the Chambers signing.

It's refreshing that they are so honest about such, and are on the surface of it, very safe guardians of our club, kudos to them

Any idea what the Probationary period is? When Baz referred to us seeking approval from the EFL, I assumed it was a voluntary arrangement?
Tan says we’re two years into it, so I wonder if all new owners have to undergo it?

It is 3 years he said.

I recommend listening to the live 1904 podcast

Tan covered a few things regarding FFP, the Philogene deal, and a few things regarding the transfer window.

The club are in a probation period of 3 years, 1 year is left, from what Tan was saying it means extra scrutiny on the business plan and all financials, currently all deals are sent to the EFL to approve.

In Tan’s own words this is to prove they are not just some crazy Turks from abroad :emoticon-0102-bigsm I got the feeling after this year it might give the club a bit more freedom to be creative financially?

In regards to the Philogene deal, he is 100% a Hull City player and Villa only have the ability to activate the buy back clause if we’re in the premier league AND no other club makes a higher bid.

If Aston Villa were to try activate the buy back Tan hinted that due to the ‘network’ of clubs we have strong relationships with there would be a higher bid than the fee agreed with Villa. (nudge nudge wink wink)

Tan wanted to stress there is a good relationship with clubs like Villa, they offered Calum Chambers to us, Tan told them it wasn’t possible as we didn’t have the finances for it, Villa then offered to cover the majority of it as they wanted clubs like us to be competitive. (Maybe increasing the chances of them getting Philogene back) :emoticon-0136-giggl

Tan mentioned Oscar leaving was very important for FFP this window.

They admitted they made mistakes with transfers but stressed their philosophy is to fix mistakes as quickly as possible so they don’t have long term burdens, which to be fair they have done mostly.

Lots more was covered, there was a funny bit about FFP and Acun reading everyone panicking on Twitter about it which then caused Acun to make the club double check everything. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

We’re in safe hands, they are a serious organisation with a LOT of people behind the scenes. Tan especially is very impressive.

Edit: Tan has given up trying to negotiate with HCC, said they were not being proactive enough in regards to the stadium development. Nothing new there. Useless bunch.

Had a listen to it on my run, I'm so pleased they gave Kalman the grace of asking the first question. <laugh>

There are reasons why players want to come here and the manager is definitely one of the main ones. He has played a primary role in creating the mentality and the style, whilst Acun has created the passion and belief that this club now exudes, and to his incredible credit, Acun has backed Rosenior to the hilt. The management and the owners are a quite formidable combination rarely seen in football. I would imagine so, anyway.

LR has definitely created a style there's no doubt about it, but those players wouldn't be coming if we don't have an owner willing to fund things and pay their wages, pay the agents fees etc etc. if we lost LR tomorrow ( for whatever reason ) he could be replaced with someone just as good, someone who can play this style ( as a lot are now ) etc... but if we lost acun I doubt we'd replace him for someone as good so easily ( not saying it couldn't happen ). This windows been fantastic, but do you think those players would still be here if LR was the gaffer but we had a owner who wouldn't pay the fees, wages etc or has the influence he has in certain areas.

Yes the whole package of of acun and LR is great. But imo one is (currently) much more integral to us being a success.

And before anyone tries to claim I'm setting up LR to fail etc....im not, I want him to do well and get us promoted. All I'm doing is living in the real world and stating cold hard facts..... Long may the current partnership continue and bring us promotion, progression and more great premiership memories.

I thought he was taking the piss, apparently heads drop when we concede, don’t we have one of the highest points from losing positions? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Haha my thought exactly too. I think we're second or third in all of England for recovery from losing positions.

You claim you're stating facts but have now twice tried to suggest we could easily get a manager just as good if we needed to replace LR and that's not really true is it.

How's it not true, is LR the best manager we'll ever have? Is he now the best manager out there? Do you honestly think we wouldn't/couldn't replace him with someone just as good if for some reason we needed to?.... With everything acun is doing, can you honestly hand on heart say we couldn't attract someone just as good?

No I don't think we'd find it particularly easy to go out tomorrow and find a manager just as good.

Perhaps in the summer, and with some time to find someone, it would be possible, but not at the drop of a hat.

Would the players have as much respect for another manager as much as what they have built with LR,would the players have come here with another manager, would another manager be able to get us playing like we are he could very well turn out to be the best manager we have ever had time will tell, would Acun have done such a great job with another manager getting us to where we are atm he tried with shota who is to say any other manager would be as successful in building this team as LR has done, it is not just Acun who has built the atmosphere within the club LR has played a massive part listen to the players that have come here who talked with LR before they signed.

It is not all about money which you seem to think it is and anyway we had enough leave to help cover what we brought in as Tan said last night, plus all the new sponserships and full crowds it has all helped to cover what they are doing difference is they are not pocketing it which they don't need to they are reinvesting it within the club.

Just to add LR got us to challenging the top 6 before this window so to me at this time no we could not have or find a better manager for the club at the present time most managers go to clubs they only care about 2 things money and results and i know both are important but LR actually does really care about the players and he won't risk them for a point or 3 he would rather stand up and take the criticism and the players know that.

The Club and staff and players are City through and through now but they are also United.

I'm not sure why you keep mentioning losing Acun in your reasoning, it's certainly not something I've brought up.
But anyway, I would also add that players are drawn to all of our figureheads, as people, they possess a magnetism and mentality that is hard to replicate.

If ever there was a time to have a week off from your continuous talking down of Rosenior, this is that week.
