As for Allayhar he was strong & fast with zero end product. Did we really pay £2 million for him ? (see above)
A very harsh lesson for Acun, I remember him saying Allahyar was the new young Saleh, unfortunately never got close to those heights.
I know it's all pointless, but I do think ally suffered unfortunately with injuries and really struggled to get any momentum. If those hadn't happened then I think he would have made a champ player
I agree, if he hadn't had the injuries then we may well have seen a better player, he has pace and the work ethic, just his first touch often lets him down.
Maybe the club haven't given up on him totally?
He's still only 22 (yep, I know that's not young, but the club do seem to think 22 is still an 'in need of development' age).
He needs regular game time and to prove his fitness / resilience. If he gets it there and does well, maybe he could still return?
If not, sorry to see him go. He always seemed to give 100% for the cause and could play in several positions. Like Slater and Doc, could be / could have been a useful squad player if not more. .
He made Richie Appleby look like a regular starter.
I disagree, he is and was so clearly rubbish from the start. I just can’t see what anyone saw in him, other than his athleticism. Which granted can be, or at least used to be a real asset at this level.
He’s an Iranian Craig ***an. Could run all day, plays very enthusiastically, gets stuck in and nips peoples heels. But when it comes to actually making things happen with the ball, he’s about as much use as a midget with a yo-yo.
Bit harsh on Craig ***an saying he was as useless as Allahyar. Scored some important goals for us
