Baz said on 'X' that today would be crucial in making significant progress on a new arrival. Wonder if its someone from a club involved in the FA Cup Replays tonight, and they'll only let them leave if they get knocked out?

Forest - Toffolo, but has been in and around the first team
Everton - ?
Palace - Rak Sakhy
Norwich - Sam McCallum

If they get through, we might have to wait until after the 4th Round of the FA Cup?

So, do we actually have 2 left backs already?
I understand Jacob was coming back from injury (?) but was Furlong actually ready enough to do a job all along? Odd that he comes in and is MoM.
Not a young lad (21), good enough for 4 Ireland U 21 caps and half a season last year in SPL, but not good enough for even a cameo even though we haven't had any LB's available.
If we bring in a starting LB, which of Furlong or Jacob do we move on?
Odd?

He played a dozen games in an SPL relegation scrap which is L2 standard, then another 5 games in playoffs against Scottish championship clubs which is pretty much national league standard. He's later in his development due to still being in Irish youth setups until 2019 so age alone is a little misleading in this case.

Rosenior has said recently they'd favour a loan for Furlong. I'd suggest that Jacob is the one of the two they'd prefer to keep around as he's played more senior football. Either way though, if it gets to the end of the window and we have another LB in then it may be as simple as coming down to whichever one gets the best offer at a level to develop further at.

Anyone know what the hold up is with the new keepers work permit? I thought a recent rule change made european transfers easier these days.

That's just come from Football League World, who claimed we'd look at him if we couldn't get a work permit for Pandur, we're definitely not signing two keepers.

I would take Horvath, he was on loan at Luton during their 22/23 promotion winning season, played 51 games for Luton as their No 1 keeper including play-off final.

Forest have financial problems with FFP and look like getting a points deduction, also Horvath isn't in their 25 man matchday squad.

The rules about getting an actual permit are very much the same. They just introduced ESC spots which are a bypass almost. My guess is the club wants to get a permit as it’s a guarantee for the length of a contract. We only get so many ESC spots and they have to be refreshed every year

The rules changed since Brexit. As the Eredivisie is a Band 2 league, much like Turkey, Pandur will get a work permit with no problem, but they always seem to take time.
