Looks like all the uncertainty is affecting both keepers confidence
Anyone else think that, giving our circumstances, we'd be having a better window so far? I know we're only 17 days in but still, I honestly thought given our problems in certain positions that we'd have players lined up, ready to sign.
I couldnt find the interview but I remember Tan last summer saying we actually wanted to do more in the summer and have already identified players for January so we're a step ahead. I understand things change but still..
We seem to be in a weird place at the moment were the owners and manager are aiming for promotion but we're really, if being honest, not ready for it yet. I know there's no right or wrong way of getting promoted, as long as you do. I just feel that if we were a bit more realistic, we could build the team up now and in the summer for next season.
I'd like to see at least 2 or 3 permanent transfers this window, players that can go straight into the starting 11, fullback, winger, striker. Then suddenly our squad next season doesnt look so bad with the likes of Morton, Delap etc leaving, we wont need a massive rebuild.

We've only got one game left this month and you don't decide January signings just around one game, all that matters is that we've got the issues resolved by the end of the month.

Going Friday as in Newcastle for two nights , can’t wait for Clarke to do the same again and read all of these posts again - just a different date .
Never seen us win there , their board reflects ours but they are Allamesque - no money to spend unless they sell a good one - apparently want to run the club frugally - heard that before it’s ’orrible

Thay have spent money, they're just historically used to spending irresponsibly and expect the same to continue now they've got back from league 1 which previous irresponsible spending put them in for years on end. . Unfortunately FFP has become more of a thing since the last time they were competitive.
They have a right to be pissed off about sacking Mowbray for Beale though.
Irrespective of the Delap injury, the other positions we needed to strengthen in have been clear for a number of weeks, if not months.
The optimist in me says we're holding out for other clubs to do their business so we can pick up our targets.
The pessimist in me says we'll hit the end of the window, panic and end up with choice #5 for each position we need to strengthen in
We've already signed Sharp, Carvalho, and Pandur is waiting for his work permit. We're reportedly close on another player, a winger, coming in. We have two left backs supposedly happy to join - not quite sure what we're waiting on there, but nothing suggests we're panicking.
So, do we actually have 2 left backs already?
I understand Jacob was coming back from injury (?) but was Furlong actually ready enough to do a job all along? Odd that he comes in and is MoM.
Not a young lad (21), good enough for 4 Ireland U 21 caps and half a season last year in SPL, but not good enough for even a cameo even though we haven't had any LB's available.
If we bring in a starting LB, which of Furlong or Jacob do we move on?

Most championship clubs would be interested in the exact same players. Most premier league clubs want players in before they let any leave. It's a domino effect.
For example, Benson. Burnley might want a player in before he leaves. Most of the Championship would be interested in Benson if he was available. He may not be everyone's first choice and the clubs available may not be his first choice. We might not sign Benson because he signs for Southampton, which might result in us signing someone like Brooks. Southampton are seemingly interested in Brooks, is he their first choice ahead of Benson, maybe? If they sign Brooks, that might result in us signing Benson. Everyone saying we should be all over players like Giles, Diallo etc. We probably are in the conversation. Drameh nearly joined us in the summer but chose Brum instead and at the time RB wasn't really an issue for us. We're always going to try and be in the conversation for good players when they come up.

Does anyone realistically expect Sharp to be banging them in this season? He was touted as somewhat of a mentor for Delap who's now crocked.
You said we will panic, despite the evidence to the contrary with our business to date. So you think we will continue to smoothly make transfers successfully then suddenly panic out of nowhere?
Watched an outstanding performance against WHU by Bristol City’s left back Pring last night. Seemed to have it all!
Surely you would not just accept any job that come along first just because you go for interview does not mean you will just accept the job you would think over all options first to make sure it is right for you.
If you're "not convinced" then you wouldn't go unless you had no other option
If you look over an offer and you have others to or a good situation where you presently are then you would think every detail through it only becomes a no other option if you are forced to take it because you have nothing else.
