HULL CITY are providing the stiffest competition to Sheffield United for the signature of Sam Curtis.

St Pat’s are resigned to losing the out-of-contract Curtis, who has been a standout performer since breaking into the first team in May 2022.

The 18-year-old has previously trained with, and been tracked by, a host of big clubs in England and further afield.

But the right-back favours a move which will offer him a realistic chance of first-team football in the short term.

And the Ireland Under-21 international appears to have narrowed his choice to one between a side struggling in the Premier League and one chasing promotion from the Championship.

SunSport understands that the Meath man has visited both the Blades and the Tigers since the turn of the year as he finalises a decision on a move.

Presumably Alfie Taylor going in the opposite direction might affect in our favour.

Hull City have given Liverpool and Fabio Carvalho no assurances about playing time during his loan spell, Liam Rosenior says. [HASHTAG]#hcafc[/HASHTAG]

Of course they haven't. He's said he'll be more than happy if he makes it to the bench, he loves it there. Cloud cuckoo land.

Think it's more a question of none being required as if he's fit and firing he walks into our best 11 anyway.

At 18 you would think he's a development signing but you would think with Christie being out of contract there's a path for him to play in the not too distant future
Just had a full season in there starting 11. Think it’s the perfect type of depth signing because he’ll constantly be developing without playing just by being with higher quality players on the training ground.

So any rumours from the Snooker Club on a replacement for Delap, we surely cannot go with what we've now got for the next three months or so?

You say that, but how many games did we go last season without a striker, despite the fact that everybody seemed to acknowledge we were a striker light in January 2022?

Tufan will get shoved up top. Carvalho can probably play there, we have Connolly and Sharp, Allahyar can sort of play through the middle, I don't think Rosie will panic, especially given that Delap seems to have played wide fairly often.
