Hence "invented"

You said his name was invented. Though I thought you would know he did not actually say that, I was not suggesting you did not know that just commenting on the fact it is still not realised by some.

I was going to put that Hedy never said that.<laugh>

I wished I’d gone to uni and studied psychiatry - following these threads you need to be Freud , Hitchens , Bamber Gascoigne Paul Gascoigne or just a plain masochist . !!!

Yilmaz apparently off to Verona for about 3m, can't see us matching that for a LB. Hopefully the Turkish link is too much to resist for Acun.

Slightly concerning that our business is predominantly loans. It's got a "Promotion or bust" feel about it as we have a massive rebuilding effort in the summer either way... It doesn't exactly feed into the "developing for the long term" mantra.

To get the quality of player like Carvalho it really can only be a loan.I guess they are juggling balls with FFP, so it does make sense.

Of course most promoted teams make good use of loan transfers, but when 3-4 of your regulars return to their parent club at the end of the season, and you have no realistic chance of signing the majority of them, it's very much a short term fix.

Yes it is, but unless you have parachute payments, it is more or less the only way other teams can compete. The chances are that even if we did get promoted, we would have to accept being a yo-yo team, and slowly build up your squad strength over time. It is just a financial fact.

We’d have to spend a lot of the promotion money just on that too. Would like us to add like Luton did if we can in the form of Barkley & Townsend types then add from the impressive network we’d gain on the continent. Luton’s model has been pretty good since going up so I think we could do that with more money we’d be looking good.
Just as we did in 2008 when brought in a whole new forward line with Cousin, King and Geo. There’s no way a promoted team could possibly survive in the Prem without significant investment.
