Even if we go up and keep the loan players, we would still need a busy summer window to survive

There's also almost zero chance we get Morton perm and even less chance on the other Liverpool lad. Delap is the only one that could happen ( that you'd actually want on a perm if we went up ). It's a very risky strategy but as I've said for a while now, this season is a real chance due to how the league is, so why not go for it

Not really as the main structure of the team would be in place, they are trying to build a team of players like Delap,Twine,Philogene,Morton, and possibly Kent ,Carvalho , Pandur and then keep them beyond not buy players that can't improve or have any value obviously they will add additions in summer window but it won't be as frantic as last couple have been not a major overhaul.

Well they already spoke to Liverpool about Morton staying here, so who knows what the club do will determine that our opinion really does not come into it.

Heard a rumour we're one of the Championship clubs interested in Lamare Bogarde. Sunderland and Southampton also interested. Been on loan at Bristol Rovers for the first half of the season and was on loan at them last season too. Been impressive in League 1 and could make the step up to the Championship.
His name sounds as though it may have been "invented" in Hollywood in the early '40s !
"Play it again, Sam." :emoticon-0100-smile:emoticon-0105-wink::emoticon-0105-wink:

Yes we have and got a firm no. Morton is seen as a future first team player there. If we do go up then the best we could hope for is another loan

We’d have to spend a lot of the promotion money just on that too. Would like us to add like Luton did if we can in the form of Barkley & Townsend types then add from the impressive network we’d gain on the continent. Luton’s model has been pretty good since going up so I think we could do that with more money we’d be looking good.

Probably a good thing so we aren’t spending £20m on a player that helped get us up rather then a new player

As you say there is no chance of getting Morton or Carvalho on a permanent, but they’re the quality of player we need to go up so for me it’s better to have them for the remainder of the season and reassess and replace in summer if we don’t go up.

I think our hand may be forced with loan spaces available anyway, but I’d want to see a keeper, left back, centre mid and Kent (if we’re in for him) on a perm this window or at least with a viable option to buy come summer.

Looking at how our 3 Premier League loan / buyback players (Morton, Delap, Philogene) read the game it's obvious that Liverpool aren't going to let Morton go at the moment. His awareness and decision making is streets ahead of the other two.
This isn't a criticism of Delap and Philogene but they simply don't read the game as well as Morton.

Having said that, in time, it wouldn't suprise me if Delap becomes the most successful player of the three of them.
