But that's like saying few years ago football and ownership would not change but it has, what is to say may be Acun is more old school and not motivated more by money but more by suceeding.

Staying in the champ isn't succeeding though is it, he's been crystal clear he wants the prem.

Haha this is hard work.... succeeding is getting to the prem anything less isn't, if he isn't getting that then he's not going to be happy is he and if he isn't getting it, how happy is he going to be to continuously pump millions in? Is he going to stick with LR long term just because he's a genuinely nice guy who played for us and has love for the club and area.... In fantasy land that's all good. But in the real world a businessman isn't going to let that stand in his way.

No matter who our manager was/is right now, where we currently sit and the backing in the Jan window, anything less then a playoff place is a poor finish to the season

Playoffs or near miss and Rosey will be backed once again in summer.

I agree anything else other than a play off is not good but it does not take away the fact Acun said not getting promotion this year won't change anything obviously now he hopes we go up like we all do but LR won't be going anywhere if we don't do it and Acun hoped for top 6 this year so to him in a way it will be succeeding this year if he reaches his goal.

Just for the record i think if we make the play offs we will win them 3 on the bounce.

Hull City will welcome Jaden Philogene back into their squad for this weekend's game with Millwall as the influential winger returns from an eight-game layoff.

Philogene limped out of the 2-0 defeat at QPR in early December, with his absence keenly felt by boss Liam Rosenior but his return to full fitness is a welcome boost, particularly with Aaron Connolly and Liam Delap still sidelined.

Boss Rosenior will also be able to call upon his flurry of late transfer window signings, all of whom will be involved at the MKM Stadium with City returning to action after two weeks.

Ryan Giles, Noah Ohio, Abdulkadir Omur and Anass Zaroury are all fit and available for selection, joining the three earlier January arrivals Billy Sharp, Fabio Carvalho and goalkeeper Ivor Pandur.

Giles and Zaroury are almost certain to be handed first starts for the Tigers, while Ohio, Abdulkadir and Pandur are likely to be on the bench for the visit of the Lions, who sit in 16th place in the Championship.

"He's available, we'll see," Rosenior said when quizzed on Philogene's return to the starting line-up, before going on to explain more about Connolly's situation which has seen him out of action since being poleaxed by Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn earlier this month.

"He's running. We just need to take it day by day with his shoulder, it's an improving picture all the time," Rosenior continued. "His concussion has completely stopped. Now he's back to normal being annoying basically. He was really, really mellow when he was concussed, so I was a bit worried about him, now he's back to being angry and horrible again.

"He's going to be like a new signing to us again and I felt for him, the nature of the injury, what he gives us in terms of his movement and his pace and his ability to finish. He's going to be another good weapon for us when he's back. It's too soon (for this weekend). He's not going to be right for another couple of weeks yet.

On Delap

"Liam, we will find out at the end of next week. He will go and see the specialist in London. He's had his injections, so by this time next Friday, we'll know more. We've been in constant contact with him. He's missing the place, he absolutely loves the lads, he's loved it here and I'm just praying that we get really good news on him.

"When the period is right for his rehab, when he can travel a little bit more. It's not right for him to be in a car at the moment. The small little details like that (we have to take care of). For Liam, regardless of what happens, I want the best news. I want to be told next week that he can play whenever, February March, April, whenever it is, he can be a part of our season because he's been magnificent.

"Even if he's not, and even if it's the worst, he will still come in and be a part of this because that's the way that things are here and the way that we value people when he wants to be around it too."

Without getting too ‘management speak’ bollocksy that does a few really important things.

1. Treats Delap in a really positive way, which is vitally important if we hope to either get him for another loan period or even permanent, by showing him how important and valued he is. People like that whether they realise it or not.
2. Shows the rest of our players, subconsciously or otherwise) how you’ll be treated if you act the right way at the club (assuming he has…certainly it sounds like he has)
3. Shows other team’s players how they would be treated here, thus encouraging them to want to come here.
4. Regardless of whether Man City taking him back was an option or not, it must raise his spirits and make him feel part of the club at a time that we may find out he could in fact play a game or two for us this season. Far better now than waiting until we know because it would mean less then.
5. Reminds (or tries to convince if you’re cynical) the fans that this is a family club that looks after their own…not just a ‘business’
6. …err…gives the physios even more experience

**** me.
I’m drinking vodka martinis at the moment. No idea if that makes sense…I’ll check tomorrow :emoticon-0168-drink
