Not so sure, everyone was excited because he'd had caps with Turkiye at a young age, and it was basically risk free as we'd be able to sell him back if it didn't work out.
Think nobody saw this level of not working out. People probably thought worst case would be he plays but poorly. This was just an unfortunate **** up
He absolutely did arrive with a big reputation, he was a breakthrough talent in Turkey that year and got himself into the national team.
If the search function wasn't so broken I'd pull posts out but Toast was very complimentary and others were excited perhaps purely on the back of the fee spent.
I also recall well the fanfare Acun made over it all and the way Turkish journalists and football fans were talking about our capture of him.
He had good reviews but nothing suggested from his previous season that he would be anything special.
Sinik was one of Acun’s signings. He pretty much engineered the entire transfer himself because he wanted him. It was no secret he wanted Turkish talent in the squad and Sinik had recently been called up to the national team. It was a signing to get people in Turkey excited. The thing is, he actually does have decent ability. He’s better than Allahyar with the ball. We’ve just barely seen it.
Just had a Google of Celi He’s 22 ina few weeks I reckon if we can get him a league 2 loan for a couple of years A league 1 loan after that He may be about ready for the development squad
Madness - you’re rushing him. 1 x 4 year League 2 loan deal 4 x 1 year League 1 loans Then we get for one season in his prime – then cash in.
Ivory Coast back level and look the better team. There’s a genuine argument Mika has been the best player on the pitch
