Tell us more?

Their owner is actively trying to sell the club and they've taken out multiple big money loans just to finance the ongoing viability of the club. They're actively trying to trim the squad and sell the large wage earners to become more financially viable, so I think they'll be looking to do the same in Jan and only minimally adding to the squad.

Was that to me about WBA?

Mmm that’s interesting.

You mean the business plan from the owner who bought and sold an Irish club in the space of about 8 months?

He didn't buy it. He agreed an incremental deal to buy 60% of it based on an investment plan and pulled the plug early when they wouldn't buy into the multiclub idea.

Both parties limited their up-front risk in that particular deal.

And that was by design.

But yeah, the one who's buying 18 year olds, securing long-term assets, fostering relationships to provide a development structure - I believe currently with a Greek as opposed to an Irish alternative etc.

You can either get the intent and direction of travel, or you can overplay a low-risk setback into some sort of sign of profligacy as befits your own preconceived bias I suppose.

Your call.

also we have to consider how promotion would ultimately effect the players we want to keep like Delap,Morton,Twine,Philogene if we went up and we got thumped week in and week out because they are not totally ready for the huge jump in class considering their own clubs did not think they were either or they would not be here with us.

Another season playing together can make a massive difference.

Yeah, so it's not the end of the world if we dont go up this season after all.

Shock horror!

It’s going to be an interesting window. As others have said a bit of experience won’t go amiss. Got to see another wide forward come in. Also would like to see an experienced championship midfielder come in to cover Seri. Very unlucky to lose Phili Jean but these things happen. I still see this as a squad with huge potential and with the right additions we can chase a playoff spot. I do think that we can use this season as a development of the team and have a right good crack at it next year.
