Whatever happens I like it that we're debating whether or not we'd like to be in the prem next season when we were little better than an above average league one team last season.

For what it's worth I'd love it if we went up. We'd be buzzing all summer and I'd trust us to add what we needed to make a decent go of it. I might not have said that if we got spanked by Fulham but we at least matched them. Going up would accelerate the plan and time is precious.

I agree mate.

I believe we already have plans for each scenario including 'promotion by accident' and we'd have the money to bring in a little extra ...

... I remember how many said we'd struggle in the Championship and, injuries aside, we've coasted it so far.

The lub have officially announced re; Stewart so I'd imagine any striker deal we may be doing is already done... Otherwise we'd be weakening our bargaining power wouldn't we?

I don't think Simms being at training this morning is a huge indicator he isn't coming here. Everton will be trying to sign a striker and if it comes off, he will possibly come. But if it doesn't, then its good that he trained.

Either way if he does come to us, I'm glad he's training today and not sitting in a car waiting for news.

Means zip. He can sign subject to medical etc, and can be at the AOL in a couple of hours if needed.

Exactly. And chances are they have most of the medical info they need anyway from his previous one and any ongoing tests following his injury he suffered whilst here?

He doesn't even need to be at the AOL to sign nowadays.

One good thing is that Ellis wants to be here , ultimately it’s up to Everton but we can’t be gazumped by other clubs . It’s up to us to agree something with Everton and quickly as the clock is ticking even if it’s a loan with an obligation to buy to avoid another medical .

A defensive midfielder we were linked with at the beginning of the window.

What’s exciting (hopefully) that if we get either a midfielder or a striker (and really we need both) and they’re NOT Ellis Simms, then there isn’t the slightest clue who it could be. Zero other links whatsoever

Has James Garner been playing for Everton? If they fancy loaning us him they can keep Simms
