I’m not overly bothered about size, quality is certainly more important but I’d like a range of different options and one we lack is a big physical central midfielder.

He’s been brilliant since he stepped into the team, it should now be up to others to take their chance if they get on the pitch.

Gooch is 27 now and not sure he’ll improve much more. If focus is on a squad that can play in Prem it really wouldn’t surprise me to see him moved on for someone younger with a higher potential.
In the summer possibly but I’d be shocked to see Gooch leave in this window. See what happens.

Whether Gooch can cut it in a higher division or not we shouldn’t be getting rid of him at this stage. He’s one of the senior pros now and we don’t have many of them, he also knows the club inside out and sets standards. Never mind the fact his form as been superb this season!
Macca has tried to pull him up, but aye, Steve is a balloon.

Gooch has been brilliant this season so I’m not too sure we should be talking about moving him on at the first rumour of an incoming right back.
