Doubt it very much. Doesn't fit the profile of being young with a sell on/development value. He's 28 now and close to his prime, so will want to play week in week out, but really only proved he can score goals in league 1. The link is only on that particular site, though we've been linked to him before, mostly by Peterborough touting him, similar to how the went about things with Marcus Madison. Plus, Peterborough fans reckon he's got a poor attitude and he does seem to move around a lot.

All in all I reckon it's nothing more than rumours and click bait
His record in the champ isn’t bad to be fair but he seems to get linked every window, lazy link because we need a striker I think

Seems an unlikely fit, unless Mowbray is pushing it. I like him though and think he would do really well here. He is a genuine number 9, strong and a very good finisher. He is a hard working lad who will press defenders. Chequered early career but captain now at Peterborough. Would be an upgrade on Simms in my opinion, and could see him and Stewart being good together if Mowbray wants 2 strikers on the pitch. I would like to see him here, but like others have said doesnt seem to be the way we go about things now, due to his age.

According to my mates who support Peterborough, he's not really as described there. Turns it on when he wants and can be lazy at times and rumours he's a bit of a disruptive influence in the dressing room.

Fair enough mate. Just describing how I have seen him when I have watched him. Would seem odd to make him captain if he was disruptive, but maybe him and McCann have hit it off.

I'll ask tomorrow at work but maybe they made him captain to give him more responsibility etc.
They will know a lot more than me about him mate. He has been there twice as well. I doubt it is a genuine link anyway, but will be interested to hear what they have to say. Just a player I have admired since his time at Bristol Rovers when I worked down there and went to a few games with lads I worked with.

Went to watch Derby today with one of my lads. We have discussed this before but they have a couple of younguns I would take here. Jason Knight was good, played quite far forward and has a lot to like about his games, going forward and backwards.. Max Bird is someone I have been keen on for a while, not his greatest game today but really tidy player and quite an old head on young shoulders.

My son really rates Max Bird

Must be a good judge then :1980_boogie_down:

He is a lad who has been around a while now. Only 22 though, probably played 130 games plus and a lot in the championship. He looks at home in a deep lying role, reads the game well, mobile and can pass it. I could see him and Dan Neil working great together. Might cost a few quid, but at 22 he is the sort of player who should grow in the game. We could do worse than someone like him as a replacement for evans in time. Might depend on how committed we are to Michut and Matete.

So as.not to detract from transfer rumours, I have put a bit more of a FFP info (stolen from Grumpy over the road) in the takeover thread.

It would be great if he would post over here as i think it's important people can read what's coming

I've asked him and he won't because it's duplicating and he already takes enough flak from idiots on there ...

... but has no objection to people pasting his comments on here though.

Great lad and 100% honest.

Would be great to get Grumpy on this forum. Has anyone made a formal approach?

I see him at most away matches, he's one of the lads I meet up with, was with him for Clarke’s wonder goal at Reading ...

... he's retired but very busy with his choir and other stuff.

Bloody good supporter and excellent company.
