Luckily we at least have a decent scouting setup these days.

I’m sure we will have a list of players similar to Simms and have an idea of who may be available. This is why we have invested heavily in the analytics side of football.

Aye true. James Young will be rolling out the spreadsheet as we speak.

No player is irreplaceable. I would hate to lose him as i think hes class but remember hardly anyone knew about him before we signed him so def a good chance theres a player out there that could be as good.

Also if you use the money well you can improve the overall team

As i said id hate to lose him but he is not irreplaceable- hard to replace yes but not irreplaceable
Pre Simms leaving that would have been and acceptable course of action. Post Simms leaving it's a gamble. One with low percentage returns in the middle of a season as opposed to a summer window. You can argue the literal or figurative use of irreplaceable all you want. But right now he definitely is.

Sorry mate, but no player is irreplaceable.

What happens if he decides he hates football and retires tomorrow? Do we just fold as a club as we can't possibly replace him?

That's a situation out of out hands and not what we're discussing or worth exploring further

The same as Stewart being irreplaceable isn't worth discussing.

Of course he is replaceable, every player we have is / are.

Relax mate and trust the recruitment team, they aren't doing a bad job
How's it not? This is a transfer thread, he's a player linked with a move so discussion about his value and merits isnt just worthy it's what the threads for.

I mentioned on the other thread that ewan ferguson of brighton would be a good loan signing. Hes a big lad with good pace n works hard

I know it’s YouTube but strong runner presses and has played against men in the pizza cup looks a handful takes his goals against Northampton and gillingham well too

How does taking a striker away from us and leaving us short force us to sell our only other striker to them?

It's desperate from Everton but nothing to do with us.
Because they will offer Simms part off the deal that's why.

He’s record in a dreadful Peterborough side is pretty good to be fair, we could probably do a lot worse
Good centre forward mate. Did well last season at this level in a terrible team. He has 2 or 3 years in him yet at a decent level. I probably dont see the club having him on the list, but if he wanders I woulf be confident he would slot in well.
