I'm not sure I buy the whole negative influence in the dressing room, may have been unhappy but I doubt he'd be deliberately disruptive.
I agree...can see Bertrand being unhappy, hell, we've all been unhappy, but a truly disruptive player has a go at his team mates and I can't see Bertie doing that. Ralph's managed so far without him, so not end of the world, but a fully fit Bertrand would be an asset to any team. Hard to sell a player who hasn't played for such a long time....except to a team not much above our level.

He can go, if its not a loan! <laugh>

Nah, being serious it would be great if we can come to an understanding with him, where he can leave in the summer, but we really could do with his experience out there. If he is fit again, he will benefit this team.

Targett is much better going forward than defending, I agree, hence playing with a back five is a good idea in the same way that we don’t have two decent CB’s that can play as a pair but look ok as a three
I don't see that. He's best in the middle part of the pitch but I wouldn't say he is that good going forward. Yes, he has a great cross on him but his pace means that he can't beat a man, so he has to stop, check and pass backward or sideways in most cases. Granted he did really well for the goal, but for me that was the exception and not the rule. That was a team move/ goal, straight from the training ground and not down to his good attacking play. Don't get me wrong, I like Targett and would love him to excel but I don't think he will. Happy for him to be cover, but not our long term left back option as he's too limited.

TalkSport reporting that Austin could be off to Cardiff on Loan, but Saints want a transfer?
Why would we even loan him to a serious relegation rival, let alone sell him to them, unless we have a striker ready to come in? But even then, that could come back and seriously bite the club on the arse

Cardiff already have two domestic loans too so likely to look abroad for a loan apparently.

If Cardiff put £2M on the table for Austin, would people be happy letting him go, and cutting all ties?
Makes me nervous, but I probably would.

No, not for me. Would have to be more than £2m for it to be worth it. We can't replace him for £2m and he is still an option off the bench to get us a goal. Especially with our limited good striking options.
