It’s funny you should say that about Bertrand as Dave Merrington dropped a hint that his prolonged absence was not necessarily purely down to an injury. Time will tell...... could be an interesting day

If he does go, I hope Targett plays better than he did yesterday! (Assist aside...)
Targett is much better going forward than defending, I agree, hence playing with a back five is a good idea in the same way that we don’t have two decent CB’s that can play as a pair but look ok as a three
I'll be pretty disappointed if we sell Bertrand now. Will also be amazed at how short we are leaving ourselves.

I think he’s pretty poor going forward unless he has time and space to cross. He’s generally not skilful or quick enough to make his own space so needs a quick switch or a smart first time pass (à la Armstrong)
Leicester after Tielemans. Haven't seen much of him since his move to Monaco but was once considered to be on par with Neves as best young midfielder in Europe
I wouldn't even sell Austin....as we are light on strikers, but can live with it if he wants to move on and has no real future here, but Bertrand! One of our better players that Ralph hasn't even looked at...if he goes, it really is all about money...no way that can be explained away. Would we even get a decent price for a player who hasn't played recently, so recovery unproven. Doesn't sound likely to me.
IF there is any truth in the rumour than I can only see it being that a big team has come in for Bertrand and he wants out as, at his age, it will most likely be the last chance of a big move/contract. I don't think any of the big teams would be after him right now so I am not buying into the rumour.
I guess it could be someone like West Ham

Its testament to Ralph that I'm not worried who leaves. The guy knows what he's doing on the pitch and I have faith that he has it off the pitch too. Maybe have got far too many stale players who regardless of their ability do not have the right energy to take us forwards. new broom, new blood. I'll be happier with new players this window but I'm happy to keep the faith regardless.
He has supposedly been wanting out since Puel was here so nobody should be surprised that this is in the air once again. He was even rumoured to be a major agitant in the dressing room at the time. If he's not on the bus and all that, Targett will have to do.
I'm not sure I buy the whole negative influence in the dressing room, may have been unhappy but I doubt he'd be deliberately disruptive.

He's certainly been a complete pro on the surface for his whole time here. I'll be sorry if he does go but not surprised.
