If it hadn't have been for Ron Davies, I would have... :)
Snap. Back in the days of life in black and white, everything was black and white in the in the mid 60's, I'd just moved from IOW to N'castle, with everyone bigging up Wyn Davis. So I threw my lot in with Ron and Saints. The foolishness of youth. Still addicted. Any road up, there was a lot of banter about who was the best centre forward, Ron or Wynn. Close race but Ron won. Could have been a Pompey fan if I'd caught a different ferry!

Solanke going from Liverpool to the Cherries.

Could be a good signing, especially if they manage to keep wilson as well.

Wasn't there a rule on loan signings from other PL clubs? I assume it is a max of 2?
He's moving permanently. For an initial fee of £19m with add-ons to follow, no less.

Absolutely incredible that LFC have managed that. Solanke has been woeful up there. Massive flop.

Yeah I noticed afterwards that Osvaldorama didn't include loan in his post, not sure why my brain just decided to add that bit in.

Young and English, £20m seems about the going rate nowadays. Why I thought Abraham would be a great signing at the reported £18m, but that looks to be dead in the water after what Qwerty said about him being registered at 2 clubs already this season.

Solanke is baaaaaaaaaaad.

He will do nothing. It's another Jordon Ibe scenario.

I know someone who watches a lot of Chelsea u23's and he was raving about him and gutted when he went to Liverpool. Guy knows his stuff as well so maybe a fresh start will do him good.

Mind you he also was convinced Jeremie Boga was going to be the next superstar of world football

I think their the oldest saints highlights i've ever watched !
You also have to remember that that Man U team was essentially the same as the one that won the European Cup just over a year before. Best, Law, Charlton, Crerand, Kidd etc. were ripped to pieces, mainly by big Ron and Johnny Sydenham on the left wing.

Other reports have said that he would be allowed to play. So I dunno (don't blame me).

I don't think that's a bad deal by Bournemouth. What's the chance of them losing Wilson?

I always liked John Sydenham, there was a buzz when he got the ball and had a chance to run at the full backs in those days. On his day he was a nightmare for any defender trying to stop him. Whilst Terry Paine was, without doubt, overall a better player in my view, JS gave you a sense of real excitement. Early on his crossing was a bit too hard and quick but that improved and then we had a real threat.
