I've been saying that what we really need is another out-of-form striker on massive wages with a bad attitude. Gray ticks all the boxes!

Note that his "great scoring record" came years ago, in the Championship. In the PL, it's a goal every 264 minutes, which is significantly lower than Gabbiadini's league scoring rate for Saints.

Everton looking at bringing in Batshuayi from Chelsea - now he would be perfect for us. Probably too expensive and not interested. But if I could pick any player to join apart from those that are 100% not happening he would be near the top.

My opinion is that rather than being responsible for us staying up, he just happened to be in charge when we stayed up by the skin of our teeth due to there being one team worse than us at the right time in our fixture schedule. His reward, of course, would have been the bonus he received for doing so - which, if the club were being run properly, should also have been his golden goodbye.

Our squad is so thin, that I'm not looking forward to anyone leaving us in this window. But I cannot wait for the mass clear-out the summer will bring. We have two years worth to move on. And for once, I don't feel sentiments.

Our squad is bloated in most areas I reckon! It feels like we're thin up top at the moment, thin of quality yes but we have Ings, Austin, Long, Gabbi (admittedbly he's out the door imminently), Carillo, Gallagher, Obafemi and Seager.
