Hi guys, I see some conflicting opinions on McGregor (and Marshall <laugh>). Most of us Cardiff fans wish it was Marshall coming back but having seen McGregor play for you on a couple of occasions, I'm quite pleased to be linked with him. What are the positives and negatives of signing him?

Goodluck for the season guys, stay above Swansea <cheers>

I wish it was Marshall as well, the most pointless of many pointless signings in the history of this football club.

As for McGregor, he's alright - saves a few, drops the occasional bollock, shags 10 birds a night...Standard goalkeeper.

He's had a back injury and hasn't played for us since last May, I'm a bit surprised he's managed to go straight out on loan, as far as I'm aware he's only played one game (in November) for the U23's and he got injured again in that one.

We got promoted last season with him as our No.1, so he's obviously decent, but personally, I'm not that arsed that he's going.

We've got too many keepers, so it's no surprise he's gone.

You'll probably get lots of comments about Marshall being ****. <laugh>

So do we, well most I'm sure.

You fleeced £5m quid off us for Billy the fish and you're getting a better keeper in return, even with a back injury!!!

I'd rather Marshall was sent to you in order to either get some confidence or find some goalkeeping ability.

10 birds a night? Bit on the frigid side up north are they? <laugh>. Wait til he gets to the Valleys, 10 in a minute <laugh>

McGregor's a good keeper. If he hadn't got injured we probably wouldn't have signed Marshall and he'd almost certainly be our number 1 now. He's made the odd howler for us, but considering he's played for three seasons as our number 1 keeper he's generally been very reliable. Does everything pretty well and he's an absolute nutter when it comes to shouting at refs and teammates which is always entertaining.

Glad to hear it mate, I've been impressed with what I've seen of him. No idea what's happened to Marshall. We'd have been up sh*ts creek without a paddle many a time if it weren't for him.

<laugh> Thats what we need, someone to get the lazy bar stewards motivated mate. We've lacked that since (sorry) Marshall left us.

We've been up **** creek with him. Thankfully our new manager has restored order.

I have seen. Definitely not the same keeper who was with us. Unfortunately, with how good and reliable he was with us, and how much your manager (I think it was Phelan at the time) wanted him, we weren't going to let him go on the cheap. Most of us were p*ssed off it was 3-5million and not around the 8-9million mark.

Just to clarify as well, none of this is hindsight - when we signed Marshall the overriding response was "why?" when we have a limited budget and so many other positions in far greater need of strengthening. Sadly he's done nothing since to answer that question and most would consider him the 3rd choice on our books.

To be fair to Marshall, the fans have never really given him a chance. They wanted Jakupovic in goal and have been begging for Marshall to make a mistake. We've had fans blaming him for almost every goal, despite our garbage defence, I can't think of many he was at fault for.

As for McGregor, he's okay. Erratic, seems to love a howler on tv. He's had a long term back injury so it remains to be seen what he'll be like now

Was it? Jak was the only available keeper and hadn't proved he can be a reliable long term no.1, to be fair, we still don't know that.

We desperately needed a keeper as McGregor was injured and also not good enough

Afraid to say... Marshall has been a disaster.... whether Phelan was responsible for his appearances is debatable. If Silva stays here, I can see him finding another keeper in the summer. Kuzsciak had been told he can leave, will that not now be the case....!!!?

**** off you silly **** all summer long you were banging on about a new goalkeeper being the number one priority <laugh> <doh>

Sounds like you've had about as much luck as us then on buying players for positions that are not needed.

Because Bruce patently didn't trust Jak and Mcgregor isn't good enough. When Bruce left and Jak was given a chance for a month he clearly proved he was worth the number 1 slot hence signing Marshall when we did was ****ing stupid.
