Sorry to be the bearer but this is really bad news. He is appallingly bad. He is the most error prone, bambi on ice centre back you could ever see who looks like he'll snap whenever he does actually manage to make a challenge. He's a total figure of fun in Italy, think McShane without the commitment.
He'd be behind all our centre backs in the pecking order, including Alex.
The man's a complete ****ing dickhead.
I'm disappointed we've gone ahead with Ranocchia, everyone I know who follows Italian football say he's appalling.
He wasn't touted as a future captain, he was captain. But he was totally ****ing awful every time he ever played.

History is not on Ranocchia's side, in the last 15 years, it is a struggle to name more than a handful of players who have transferred from Italy to England and been a success. I defy anyone to name more than 3.
Just a quick one (as I've gone back 5 pages and can't find it). Does have anyone have any information as to whether the Robertson bid has been accepted? Everyone seems to be diffidently pissed off enough to suggest it has. I can't actually see ehab being stupid enough to accept 10m though. He's worth double that in today's market. Especially January window where prices are inflated
He had one good season when paired at centre back with Bonucci at Bari. Juve signed Leonardo and Inter went for Andrea. Their respective career paths since tells you who did best out of those deals.
