Agreed, an easiest way to judge a player quickly is feet and level of opposition, this new larkers touch and ability with the ball at his feet against Ligue 1 opposition (and playing for Barca in the CL) suggests to me he’s a step above. I’ve watched balls bounce off Longmans shins for too long.

I think we're still looking quite heavy. 10 midfielders competing for 3 spots. 9 forwards competing for another 3 spots.

C.Jones needs a loan to get some game time
M'hand needs to do one
Simons for whatever reason isn't getting the game time he needs here. Sign him up and loan him out, or let him go somewhere that he'll be played.
Pelkas blew hot and cold, not sure he'll see many minutes especially now we have a couple of reinforcements.
Smith looks to be on his way out, good for him
Scott needs to find a new home, hopefully he does
Covil, even though crocked, didn't look like he was ready for the first team, needs to find some game time elsewhere when he's back from injury
Longman, looked better when playing RW, not sure we'll see much of him now we have reinforcements. Suspect his days could be numbered - one to leave in the summer?

Dont forget Woods....

Only issue with de la Fuente is language
He’ll be using z instead of s and getting chips when he meant crisps.
The language barrier with Americans is serious and stymies the player due to communication issues - Jozy Altidore is a prime example. "Put it in the net Jozy" was misunderstood as "Put it in row Z Jozy" - super consistent in his execution of the misunderstood request.

Seems touch is something LR is looking for. And if he is anything like Connolly he will have it in spades. Theres someone who looks as though he has super glue on his laces.

5'7"
how tall was Franco Baresi? Still didn't stop him from being one of the best centre half's on the planet..
Fabio Cannavaro was hardly a giant.
