That’s possible, doesn’t change the fact Abel was/is a better player than Oscar
Oscar has much better pedigree at a higher level than Abel. Abel’s best scoring season in his career is with us in the championship. Oscar’s is in the Portuguese Premier league. I’d not necessarily disagree with you but it’s not a set in stone fact that he’s a better striker.

fair
But the portuguese league is pretty gash outside porto benfica n sporting etc
Not much diff to the spl
Only one team other than those three have won the league since ww2 and it happened once

Also not sure why hernandez n oscar are being compared
Both doing us/did well

Theyd have made a good partnership up top with their differing attributes

Oscar was with Vitória S.C for 5 years, he spent 2 of those years on loan at Barcelona S.C. and Denizlispor (presumably how he made it onto Acun's/Tan's radar). It's not like he was a first team regular and scoring for fun in the Primeira Liga.

On the Oscar debate, I think most of his goals have been good finishes, the one v Wigan & one v Norwich come to mind as being lucky scuffs, but the rest, from my poor memory, have been about him being in the right place as Strikers should be. Something we’ve not had for a while. Definitely a huge step up from Eaves!
His second goal at West Brom was a cracking finish, with his weaker foot too.

Nope. Different, absolutely. Better? Depends what you’re using as a yard stick.
He’s a better footballer technically, just compare some of Abel’s finishes to Oscar’s

Abel could do everything Oscar does however Oscar would struggle to do some of the things Abel did

Just a reminder of how good he was -

That’s pretty harsh. Our league is often mistaken for being quality instead of just highly competitive

Would you rather have prime Abel or Oscar as our starting striker?

Abel was a different level to Oscar

Can’t believe some of you think otherwise
Another occasion when maybe useful to remind how a particular player was rated at one point in their City career, not how they are now viewed with 20/20 hindsight. At the end of his first season here very few rated Abel. He'd been injured quite a lot I remember and in fact, there was a lot of very negative comment about him. When we went down that season there wasn't a great clamour to keep him but Steve Bruce did, and he came good in the Championship.
