I think the acid test will be whether we do let Baxter go and promote Lo-Tutala to #2. What normally ends up happening with these young keepers with potential is that they never actually make it as far as #2.

Baxter's had two pretty bad injuries while here and is now injured again. I think he's rated, but also that Tim-LT has been much, much better than expected and that's thrown the thinking a little bit. As far back as October ago I'd have put my house on us signing him permanently as we have a clause, but now, I think it's more likely he'll be returned and then sold to another club.

Or, knowing our luck, he'll get into somehow get into Chelsea's team and be England's next #1.

They must have rated Timmy from the getgo though. After a few days on trial, they offered him a 4 year deal. Considering we're close to FFP, it seems like a no brainer to save the £500k/£1m on Baxter's transfer fee. Injuries have hampered his last 3.5 years now and it's becoming a major problem, he doesn't seem capable of playing more than 20 games

In a recent interview Acun seemed to suggest we have a bit of headroom with FFP due to our increased income, Sounds familiar. :bandit:

I read that and thought the same.

If we're going for players like Ebiowei & the striker at Burton, it's not going to cause us any issues at all. We've got players we can move out very quickly and easily to free up room too

We could send the 3 Chelsea lads back and that should give us the room to do the business we wish to

I think the gates have helped a lot. I think we were probably cautious in the summer because we didn't know what we were looking at crowd-wise but now they can be a bit more relaxed in January as and where needed. As you say though, I think it'll be only minor additions, although if the right big fish is available Acun might go for it.

The sponsorship will have helped a lot too. Efes, Jeton & Tomya have all come since the summer too

I do too, apparently for the price we've agreed (<£1m), it's a massive bargain.
If City signed him permanently in January, could they add him to the squad without counting against the 25? Or do you think they hope he'll be available before player registration has to be confirmed?

This is what should happen IMO, I hope Lo-tutala starts Vs Fulham

There's a couple of sponsorship deals in the pipeline which would really really help, I think that's what he was alluding to ( if they come off and we move on the players not needed, then FFP outlook is very different )

Yes. All loans need to be registered regardless of age but u21 owned by the club don’t.
