Neither would I, I wouldn't have him on the bench either and I'm being brutally honest, I think he should go back in Jan. It's nothing to do with his ability, we just have 2 very good keepers that are ours and Baxter is starting to look like he lacks a little robustness, so let's spend the money elsewhere

That's probably fair, though I'd still be looking to sign him as if we get an injury to Ingram or Tim LT, the next goalkeeper in line would be Harry Fisk or Tom MacAuley, unless we recall one of the other two. Cartwright needs to be playing and he isn't at Peterborough (I know he picked up an injury, but he wasn't playing even when he didn't have one), so either recall him and send him somewhere else or recall him and send him to a club that will play him.

I do too, apparently for the price we've agreed (<£1m), it's a massive bargain.
The injury isn’t that worrying either especially with the level of treatment he’ll get at Arsenal to get him through it. I suffered the exact same growth issue with my knees albeit much earlier than he has.

Just had a look on wiki, his style is similar to Modric apparently, playmaker and scores a few, regarded as good on the ball technically, good in either the no.10 role.or central midfield playmaker type.

I'd be very surprised if we got someone like him in. Definitely wouldn't complain though

Edit... Seems to love a booking just as much as an assist

Realistically, he was always one who was going to need time. I didn't expect much from him this year, but over the next 2/3/4 years he could be huge for us
I think once it’s fit it’ll be near enough instant and if we aren’t a top flight club we’ll be looking at a tasty sum.

I hope you're right, but can't say I've seen anything of him.

I really don't understand people's short term thinking and I can't understand for a second why we'd even contemplate sending him back. Then again, they were the same ones saying Timmy was a pointless signing in the Summer as we have enough keepers.

He might well still turn out to be. Flavour of the month currently but it's not easy to break into the team as a keeper, I can't remember a young one successfully breaking through this century for City.

Watching him even in brief glimpses is enough to see the potential he has. I think he only needs a chance and he’ll stick after that. You can just see in how he punches the ball through the lines, doesn’t panic. His distribution is brilliant, he’s also got a good size to dominate his box which I haven’t really seen yet but as he’s only 19 it’ll only get better.

Cartwright made two appearances last season, think before him it was Oxley. It is difficult, but if Baxter goes back, he's only got Ingram to displace and he's in the team.

I think the acid test will be whether we do let Baxter go and promote Lo-Tutala to #2. What normally ends up happening with these young keepers with potential is that they never actually make it as far as #2.
