So he fancies playing in a league that only has 2-3 teams that can only realistically win and will pretty much have guaranteed European competition qualification every season, mmmm...

If I was being offered £15k a week to score goals in a piss easy league that would essentially guarantee me European football, I'd take it. It would show zero ambition, but you'd be on a bigger stage and alerting bigger clubs.

I wouldn't say it doesn't show ambition to be honest, as you say, it can alert bigger clubs, and if he performs he could find himself at a PL club pretty soon.

Garang Kuol has enough points to get a work permit after moving to Newcastle, so is now likely to go on loan to the Scottish Premier League or Championship. Would love us to have a crack at him.

Very good player, would he be alright in the Championship or would he get bullied a bit? He's only small isn't he?

He might take a while to adapt, but I wouldn't say the A-League is too light on, will be interesting to see where he moves. I suspect he'll go SPFL as there's a lot of Aussies there so he might find it easier to adjust.

Tired old debate this one.

People with some attachment to or interest in Rangers or Celtic think they're enormous and should be seen as a bigger draw than PL teams and so on.

But no one else does, sorry.

teams who finish 15th in the premier league are not the draw you think they are

They clearly are, to the entire world.

i mean it's not really is it

its for the manchester uniteds, arsenals and the like that have all the draw

southampton v bournemouth does not have the draw you seem to envisage

Southampton, Bournemouth, or Hull City when in the Premier League, can have their pick of players from around the world because being in the league is such a draw. It isn't a debate, no matter how much Rangers and Celtic types want it to be.

Better off just enjoying the SPL for what it is, if that's what floats your boat, rather than trying to compare it the PL. It's pointless and tiresome.

Sounds like he's one of the aforementioned Rangers types. Good luck to him.

Regardless of size, I’m pretty certain rangers and Celtic don’t have a budget to match even the lowest spending PL clubs. Therefore, if Southampton or any other PL team for that matter want a player, there’s no way the Scottish big boys can compete financially.

He got released by his last two clubs

he was a proper good championship forward though a few years ago
