Not to be a pessimist but he’s played for 5 clubs in 5 years since he left, he’d want a fortune and he’s pretty injury prone.
His headed goal in front of the Arsenal fans was a thing of beauty - the cross to him and his movement to avoid the two central defenders was just exquisite; scored so soon after half time lots of our support missed it!
I think its more him putting himself out there as opposed to genuine interest on our part.

True, but on a free transfer, who knows. He's experienced and he absolutely dicked this league last time out. At 31 he's not too old and I reckon he'd do a good job for us.

They’ve been relegated today, 12 goals 5 assists in a relegated side. Could be a very good cheap signing for the midfield, only 21 too.
We tried for him in January but Wimbledon wanted £1m. There's some decent competition for his signature, but he's a decent larker and ready to make the step up.

We need a holding midfielder with some legs who can move the ball without taking 4-5 touches whilst pondering what to do. Smallwood’s done alright this season and we should keep him around as a squad player but we need someone who can break up play and get us moving up the field.
This is where it is most needed, along with an attacking midfielder. Better quality players in those positions are desperately needed.
