Problem is finding them. Coventry got a player like Hamer for £1 million from the Dutch league. Nicolas Raskin is a name most won’t know but is the sort of player we should be looking at.

Luton Town are down to 1 fit keeper and are trying to sign Matt Ingram on emergency loan for final game and hopefully play-off games. Just shows how highly rated he is amongst other Championship clubs and we need to sort out his new contract.

I suspect they could well come from overseas, as value for money, they are probably cheaper than UK players.

I almost certain the majority of our signings this summer will come from overseas

Same with Swansea who signed Joel Piroe for £1 million. 22 goals this season.

If our defensive players are so marvellous, how come we conceded 5 yesterday.

I just hope we go back to Fatih Kamagumruk and try to get the Serbian striker Aleksandar Pesic from them, he has been scoring a goal every 2 games this season in the Turkish Super Lig. 6ft 3in and has plenty of pace, an improvement on Eaves. We tried to get him in January but he wanted to stay in Istanbul, but now we have guaranteed Championship status hopefully his agent can change his mind.

Because players aren't machines and can have an off day? If football was that simple everyone would play one game and calculate who wins the season based off that.

A really off day. How can you say they're overrated off a single game that doesn't matter when the body of work over the season says otherwise?

Individually a tad overrated but as a unit they’re very good.

    Bit of both I think.

They had a different midfield make up and formation to not protect them as well.

They struggle with physicality and pace and their passing is, at times, poor. They are too often caught in possession and should employ "row Z" more often. We need a physically dominant leader who can pass, if we are to improve, in my opinion.

Considering where we are in the table, the number of goals conceded is crazy. It's top 6. With a better attacking scoring more goals and holding more possession and taking pressure off the defence, we would theoretically concede even fewer. To suggest that there are any issues with the defence off the back of a game that doesn't matter is akin to having a meltdown if we lost our first pre-season game to a League Two side.

Possibly the reason we score so few goals is because of the number of defenders in the team?

We went down in the 19/20 season because we persisted with 4-3-3, we’d have gone down this season too if we did also. We’ve played 5-2-3/3-4-3 second half of the season and we’ve stayed up comfortably.

At times one of our wing-backs has been KLP, and quite often the other is Ryan Longman. Both are wingers, and certainly not defenders.

Which is why we get so few bodies in the oppositions penalty box
I think we have done well this year, with limited resources but the whole team needs an overhaul if we are to improve. We are not going to sign 8 or 9 world beaters so clever investment is required. An experienced old head at the back would probably mean we concede even fewer.
