I'm pretty sure we will see a huge return on our £2m investment both on the pitch and financially
Agree with this, players like Baxter and Allahyar could easily be going for 8 figures after a season consistently further up the division. I genuinely believe Baxter will be knocking on England’s door within 3 years. If we can get him in summer he’s another who will make a huge contribution financially and playing.

£15k-a-week for a Championship team’s best player doesn’t seem disproportionate imo. Isn’t the average wage in the Championship close to £30,000-a-week these days?
Mitrovic is on £60k I read which shows what they must be paying and in the premier league too as I imagine that’s after a relegation clause.

Yeah, five figure weekly wages is pretty much standard in the Championship now. I don’t know the precise details but I imagine the majority of our squad, KLP included are on four figures a week too.

£15k-a-week for a winger who’s scored 11 goals in a bottom 6 side isn’t silly. I think the likes of Greaves, Honeyman and Baxter if we get him permanently should be offered five figure contracts.

KLP, Greaves and Fleming are on **** all compared to their contribution. James Scott is one of the highest earners, I imagine most the players who were still with us when Grant relegated us make up the other highest earners too.

If it’s someone like West Ham though, he won’t be getting much game time next season.

Like you said and Howden said, the West Ham rumours today seem to be speculation, however.
really? Why not? Left Wing is there for the taking. Benrahma flatters to deceive, Vlasic isn't quite up to it and Lanzini & Fornals are preferred centrally.

I rate Allahyar a lot; think we have a decent player on our hands and can’t wait to see what he’s like after a full pre-season at the club. What I like most is his positivity. He’s always looking to move the ball forward. One thing about Wilks that I found frustrating was that he always played with his back to the opposition. Allahyar seems the opposite and wants to turn quickly and be running at the opposition. He’s quick, strong, has a bit of flair and works his bollocks off.

I think there’s always a bit of hesitancy when a player who has never played in English football before transfers from abroad and questions over whether they can adapt to English football. I don’t think that’s an issue with Allahyar; he seems built perfectly for the pace and physicality of English football.

I'm really impressed with how Shota has handled Allahyar, he has let him settle in and not exposed him too early. Overall, Shota has quietly been accessing the squad over the time he has been here and has now a clear picture of who his preferred players are. Clearly, Wilks and Docherty have not impressed him at this level, and he soon saw Alfie Jones as a better option to Bernard, though maybe he prefers to play our contracted players.

It was fairly clear from the last 2 windows that once the figures reached a certain level then he'd be on his way. £18m plus add ons if that's the fee makes sense for all concerned.

I'm sure through their wide network overseas, they are seeking a replacement for the likes of KLP should he go. I'm sure they can find a much cheaper option in the lesser leagues, i.e. Allyahyar, and use the money to strengthen in other areas. Tan Kester is a very astute operator, and he will be ahead of the game.

Is quite happy to play Baxter so don't think that's it.

Forss not getting games either laughs in the face of those who claimed he was on a required game time loan.

I was sceptical at first about Shota but he's doing a really tidy job and we're improving under him. Completely agree re Allahyar, he's handled him very well and there's also plenty of players showing improvement, so they're clearly doing something right on the training ground.

I think the acquisition of Peter Van Der Veen will prove to be a good one over summer too. Contacts throughout all of Dutch football, some of the best young footballers come out of the Netherlands.

Think he was also good for this young squad.

I like what Shota and the coaching staff have done with the lads since coming in. Results at home haven’t been great but I have noticed the likes of Slater, Alfie, Fleming, Greaves etc. just get better with every game.
