Seems like a bargain for Longman, but don't forget, we've done similar when we've been in the PL.

Didn't we sell Cairney for something similar (600k with a sell on)? Maybe we paid forward.

Clubs often seem to obsess about collecting/possessing tonnes of young players (like Chelsea et al.)

This way, we all get to wet our beak.

Same. And I also don’t understand this obsession some fans have with us re-signing players that played for us 5 years ago. A lot of them are just mercenaries. Someone mentioned Clucas a few pages back ffs.
Whilst I understand your point, I don’t agree with it. I would love to have some of our former players back. Snodgrass for instance would make a great impact sub.
I don’t think that every one who has ever played for us would be perfect. But when you see ex city players in other teams doing well, it makes you wonder what they would be like back with us.

Cairney went for about £400k, we didn't have much of a sell on either, certainly not as much as we'd have liked. Doubt he'll get a big money move now so it's irrelevant anyway.

Clubs do double down on young players because they add to value, but there's no sense having loads because it stifles the pathway to the first team.
